About This Job
Apply for 2 Assistant Professor posts in NFSU Goa. PhD eligible. Salary: Rs 75,000-90,000. Last date: 13 Aug 2026. Apply at nfsu.ac.in.
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is hiring 2 Assistant Professors on a contractual basis for its Goa Campus. If you have a Ph.D. in Forensic Science, Chemistry & Toxicology, or Physics & Ballistics, you can apply online before 13 August 2026. Shortlisted candidates must attend a walk-in interview on 14 August 2026 at the Goa Campus. The salary is a consolidated Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 90,000 per month, depending on your qualifications.
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance set up by the Government of India, has invited applications for Assistant Professor (Contractual) positions at its Goa Campus. The posts are open to candidates from Forensic Science (General), Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology, Forensic Physics & Ballistics, and FPQD backgrounds. There is no written exam — selection is entirely through a walk-in interview, which makes this a fast-moving opportunity. The engagement is purely contractual for about 11 months, which may be extended depending on your performance, so this is a good starting point for PhD holders and NET-qualified candidates who want to build an academic career in forensic science. NFSU regularly runs similar contractual and guest faculty recruitment drives across its campuses in India throughout the academic year, so it is worth checking back on the careers page even if you miss this window.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in a relevant or allied discipline — Forensic Science (General), Chemistry & Toxicology, Physics & Ballistics, or FPQD — with First Class in your preceding degree. You can also qualify under the UGC 2018 regulations for appointment of teachers in universities and colleges.
- Domain Areas: The post is open across Forensic Science (General), Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology, Forensic Physics & Ballistics, and FPQD — so candidates from any of these specializations can apply for the same 2 posts.
- Desirable: Having one publication in an SCI-indexed journal will strengthen your application.
- Also eligible: If you do not yet have a Ph.D. but are currently pursuing one in Forensic Science or an allied discipline at an Institution of National Importance or a reputed university, or if you are NET-qualified in a relevant subject with a good academic record, you can still apply.
- This recruitment is made in compliance with the Reservation Policy of the Government of India, and the medium of instruction for all courses at NFSU is English.
- If your degree uses a grading system instead of percentage marks, your result will be converted to a percentage using the conversion table declared by your university. Your qualifications and experience will be assessed as on the date of the walk-in interview, 14 August 2026.
Salary
- Selected candidates get a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 90,000 as a regular Assistant Professor.
- If NFSU decides to engage you at a lower level based on your qualifications, the remuneration will be Rs. 75,000 per month.
- The applicable remuneration level is decided by the selection committee based on your qualifications, experience, and performance in the interview.
- No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
NFSU selects candidates purely through a walk-in interview that assesses your subject knowledge, teaching aptitude, and research background:
- Document Screening: Bring all original certificates and documents for verification at the venue.
- Walk-In Interview: Held on 14 August 2026 at NFSU Goa Campus. The interview may go on for the whole day, so plan your travel accordingly — it could even spill into the next day.
- Final Selection: Based purely on your performance in the interview, subject to your eligibility being verified.
NFSU reserves several rights during this process — it may offer the post at a level lower than advertised depending on your qualifications and experience, draw up a reserve panel against future vacancies, consider your candidature for a higher or lower position than the one you applied for, and withdraw or amend this advertisement partly or wholly at any time without assigning a reason.
