NCRPB Young Professional (GIS) Recruitment 2026

The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), a statutory body under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has released terms of reference for engagement of Young Professional (GIS) on a contract basis. The role supports the Geo-Portal of National Capital Region (NCR) and GIS-related work on Delineation of NCR and Regional Plan-2041. The initial contract is for one year and can be extended up to a maximum of five years.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification (Either of the Following)

• Option 1: Master's Degree in Geographical Information System (GIS) / GIS & Remote Sensing / Geo-Informatics from a recognized university or institute
• Option 2: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Planning / Civil Engineering / Architecture / Geography plus Post Graduate Diploma (one year or more) in GIS / GIS & Remote Sensing / Geo-Informatics from a recognized university or institute

Experience and Skills

• At least 3 years' experience in GIS and Remote Sensing in the field of Urban and Regional Planning
• Work experience in projects such as Regional Plan, Development Plan/Master Plan, City Development Plan, AMRUT mapping, and Smart City Projects
• Hands-on with latest GIS software packages, especially ESRI (ArcGIS) and QGIS

Salary

• Consolidated remuneration: Rs. 70,000 per month (Seventy Thousand only)
• Leave entitlement: 1.5 days per completed month with no accumulation beyond a calendar year
• TA/DA for official tours: Air (Economy) or Rail (AC 2-Tier), hotel up to Rs. 2,250/day, taxi up to Rs. 338/day, food bills up to Rs. 900/day

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on qualifications, experience and skill sets
2. Interview: By a Selection Committee formed by NCRPB
3. Document Verification: Originals required at the time of interview

There is no written exam. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• Handle GIS and Remote Sensing tasks for Delineation of NCR and Regional Plan-2041
• Prepare thematic maps and spatial analyses using ArcGIS and QGIS
• Support Regional Plan, Development Plan, City Development Plan, AMRUT and Smart City Project work
• Assist Director (A&F), Chief Regional Planner and Member Secretary on assigned GIS work
• Maintain GIS databases and ensure data accuracy across NCR planning datasets
• Prepare reports, charts and visualisations from GIS analyses for the Planning Wing
