The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) is hiring 1 Planning Assistant on a regular basis at its New Delhi office. If you have a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering or Architecture (Bachelor's degree holders in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Planning are also eligible), you can apply. NCRPB Planning Assistant Recruitment 2026

The National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), a statutory body under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, has invited applications for 1 Planning Assistant (Group B Non-gazetted) post by direct recruitment. Selection is based on a single Written Competitive Examination covering Objective and Descriptive papers — there will be no interview. The post is classified as UR (Unreserved) and located in New Delhi.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Diploma in Engineering (Civil) of three years full time duration, OR
• Diploma in Architecture of three years full time duration, OR equivalent

Note (Also Eligible)

• Candidates who have done a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Planning from a recognized university/institution are also eligible

Preferential

• Candidates with 2 years' experience in GIS, Urban Planning and working experience in GIS software

Age Limit

• Maximum age for direct recruits: 30 years
• Maximum age for internal candidates (NCRPB employees): 35 years
• Cut-off date for age and qualification: last date of receipt of applications
• Age relaxation for reserved categories is as per DoPT, Government of India guidelines

Salary

• Pay Level: Level 6 as per 7th CPC pay matrix
• Pay range: Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400 per month
• Plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Probation period: 2 years

Selection Process

Selection will be based on:

1. Written Competitive Examination: A single exam with Objective type questions (General Intelligence, Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, etc.) AND a Professional/Technical Test of descriptive type
2. Document Verification: Originals will be verified for those in the merit list, and again at the time of joining

No interview will be conducted. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the overall performance in the Written Examination.

• Assist in preparing regional plans, sub-regional plans, and master plans for the NCR
• Handle planning-related drawings, maps, and technical drafts using GIS software
• Support Civil Engineering and Architecture aspects of NCR planning projects
• Maintain records of project data, surveys, and planning documents
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for the Planning Wing
• Coordinate with senior planners and officers on assigned planning tasks
