The Madhya Pradesh Employee Selection Board (MPESB), also known as ESB Bhopal, has released the rulebook for 2,784 Agriculture Extension Officer posts under the Group-2 Sub-Group-1 exam. These are regular Class-3 (executive) posts in the Directorate of Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development. The selection is through a single computer-based test (CBT), with no interview. Who Can Apply?

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2026 for open direct recruitment.
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is 45 years for Madhya Pradesh domicile SC, ST, OBC candidates, women, government or corporation/board/autonomous body employees, and Nagar Sainik (5 years relaxation).
  • EWS: No age relaxation is given to Economically Weaker Section candidates.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a pay scale of Rs. 25,300 to Rs. 80,500 per month under the Madhya Pradesh 7th Pay Matrix.
  • You will also get DA, TA and other allowances as per Madhya Pradesh government rules.
  • During the 3-year probation period, you will get a stipend of 70% of the pay in the first year, 80% in the second year, and 90% in the third year. Full pay starts after you complete probation.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): A single online paper of 200 marks. Merit is based on your score in this exam.
  2. Document Verification: Your qualification, category and other certificates are checked by the recruiting department.
  3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit for appointment.

There is no interview. Aadhaar-based biometric verification is mandatory at the exam centre.

Responsibilities

  • Advise farmers on modern farming methods, quality seeds, fertilizers and crop protection
  • Promote and implement government agriculture schemes at the village and block level
  • Conduct field visits and demonstrations to help farmers improve crop yields
  • Guide farmers on soil health, irrigation and new agricultural technology
  • Collect crop and agriculture data and report it to the department
  • Organize training camps and awareness programs for farmers
  • Help farmers access subsidies, credit and other government support
