Varanasi Anganwadi Worker (Karyakatri) Recruitment 2026 - 187 Posts

The office of the District Programme Officer (Child Development), Varanasi has released a notification to fill 187 vacant Anganwadi Worker posts spread over 9 child development projects in the district. These posts run under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme and the work is based on a fixed monthly honorarium. These posts are meant only for local women residents of the ward or gram sabha where the vacancy exists. If you live in Varanasi, have finished your 12th, and want to work close to home helping mothers and small children, this is a good chance for you.

An Anganwadi Worker is the face of the ICDS scheme at the village and ward level. You will run a local Anganwadi centre that gives free nutrition, health support and early learning to small children, pregnant women and new mothers. Because the job is tied to your own area, women who want to serve their local community while earning a steady honorarium find it a good fit. The 187 openings are spread across eight rural blocks and the urban zone of Varanasi, so there are vacancies in almost every part of the district.
