Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) Materials Manager Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Mormugao Port Authority, functioning under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India, has issued a circular to fill 1 Materials Manager post in its Engineering Mechanical Department. The post will be filled by absorption through the composite method from officers already working at any of the country's Major Port Authorities, such as Chennai, Cochin, JNPA, Kolkata, Paradip, New Mangalore, Deendayal, Tuticorin and Vishakhapatnam. This is a lateral transfer opportunity, not an open recruitment — the vacancy will be filled based on merit, subject to concurrence from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. The circular has also been forwarded to the Indian Ports Association so eligible officers across the port sector are aware of this opening, and the selected officer will be governed by MPA's Service Rules and Regulations as amended from time to time. MPA is certified for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 management systems, reflecting its focus on quality and environmental standards in port operations, and functions as part of the government's Sagarmala and Gati Shakti port infrastructure programmes.

Who Can Apply?

• Eligibility: You must be a serving Officer at a Major Port Authority who meets the qualification and experience requirements set out in the Mormugao Port Authority Recruitment Rules for Materials Manager (Annexure-I of the official circular).
• Performance record: Your overall grading in ACR/APAR must not be below Very Good for the last 5 assessment years (2021-22 to 2025-26).
• Crucial Date: Your eligibility for qualification, experience and other criteria will be assessed as on 6 September 2026, the closing date for online applications.
• Restriction: This post is open only to officers currently employed at a Major Port Authority — candidates from outside the port sector or the general public cannot apply.
• Disclosure: If any major or minor penalty has been imposed on you during the last 10 years, you must disclose full details of the disciplinary case along with your application.
• Verification: The genuineness of your university certificates and the recognition of your degree will be checked and certified by your parent Port before forwarding your application.
• Approval: Your application must be routed through your parent Port along with administrative clearance and vigilance clearance.

Salary

• The Materials Manager post carries a pay scale of Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 2,20,000 per month (pre-revised scale: Rs. 32,900-58,000 / Rs. 16,000-20,800).
• You will also get dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA) and other benefits applicable to Major Port Authority officers.

Selection Process

The selection is entirely merit-based. There is no written exam or interview for this post:

1. Application Screening: The Service Selection Committee reviews your application, ACR/APAR records for the last 5 years, and the administrative and vigilance clearances forwarded by your parent Port.
2. Merit Assessment: Your candidature is assessed purely on your service record — your ACR/APAR grading must not be below Very Good for each of the last 5 years.
3. Final Selection: The Service Selection Committee finalises the selection based on overall merit, subject to the Ministry's concurrence before the post is formally filled.

Note: If you withdraw your candidature after being selected by the Committee, you will be debarred from future selection to Deputy HOD-level posts across all Major Port Authorities for 2 years.

2. Take a print-out of your submitted online application.
3. Attach the required documents — educational and experience certificates, ACR/APAR copies for the last 5 years, administrative and vigilance clearance, an undertaking, a No Objection Certificate, and passport size photographs.
4. Forward the complete application through proper channel from your parent Port — applications sent directly by candidates will not be accepted.
5. Ensure your application reaches the Secretary, Mormugao Port Authority, Saarasi, General Administration Department, Headland, Sada, Goa - 403804, on or before 21 September 2026.

Note: If your Port forwards your application more than 15 days after 21 September 2026, your candidature will not be considered. Incomplete applications, late applications, or applications not routed through the proper channel will also not be considered.
