Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA), functioning as the Meghalaya Basin Management Agency (MBMA), is hiring a Senior Manager - Finance and Accounts for its Meghalaya Livelihood Improvement through Forest Enhancement (MegLIFE) project in Shillong. MBDA is the state's nodal agency for integrated natural resource management and livelihoods programmes across Meghalaya's districts, and MegLIFE is one of its externally aided rural livelihoods initiatives. This role sits at the centre of the project's financial governance — managing budgets, audits and statutory compliance for donor-funded activity, with working knowledge of Government Financial Rules, PFMS and applicable taxation laws expected on the job. The engagement is contractual, tied to the life of the project rather than a permanent government post. Finance professionals with hands-on experience in World Bank, JICA, ADB or similar externally aided projects will find the role's requirements a close match.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Engagement type: Purely contractual for one year, renewable based on your performance and whether the MegLIFE project continues.
• Agreement: Selected candidates sign a deed agreement with MBDA covering the detailed terms and conditions of engagement.
• Compensation structure: Beyond the base monthly pay, MBDA adds House Rent Allowance, EPF and Medical Allowance as applicable.
• Selection: Selection combines a written/assignment test with a personal interview, both conducted only in Shillong.
• Vacancy flexibility: MBDA reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts between the advertisement and the final selection.
• Domicile note: Meghalaya citizens residing outside the state with relevant expertise are specifically encouraged to apply.
• Serving employees: If you are currently employed elsewhere, you must produce a No Objection Certificate from your employer when called for the interview.
• Internal applicants: Existing MBDA/MBMA staff can also apply, but their application must be routed through their reporting officer or backed by a recommendation letter; newly appointed staff need at least one year in their current position first.

• Manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for the MegLIFE project
