Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation Limited (MTDC), a Government of Meghalaya undertaking, is building a hospitality team through this contract recruitment. The notice brings guest-facing beverage and table-service work together with kitchen supervision and support roles. Your best fit depends on the kind of hotel or food-and-beverage experience you already have, because the preferred experience differs from role to role.

Posts and Disciplines

• Bartender: a beverage-service role suited to someone comfortable with bar preparation, guest orders and safe service practices.
• Barback: a support role focused on keeping the bar stocked, clean and ready during service.
• Waiter/Service Staff: a floor-service role connecting guest orders with the kitchen and beverage counters.
• Sous Chef: a kitchen leadership role for an experienced hospitality professional who can guide preparation and service.
• Senior Barista: a coffee-service role with added responsibility for quality, workflow and junior staff support.
• Junior Barista: an entry-level coffee counter role for building practical beverage-service experience.

Post-wise Duties

Bartender

You will prepare and serve beverages, organise the counter and respond to guest requests while following MTDC service and hygiene standards. You may also help monitor bar stock and keep service records accurate.

Barback

You will support the bartender by replenishing supplies, cleaning equipment and keeping the bar work area ready during busy service periods. The role calls for coordination and careful handling of stock.

Waiter/Service Staff

You will take orders, serve food and beverages, clear tables and coordinate with the kitchen and service counters. Clear communication with guests and colleagues is central to the role.

Sous Chef

You will organise food preparation, guide kitchen workflow and help maintain consistent dish quality. You will also support stock control, cleanliness and coordination between the kitchen and service team.

Senior Barista

You will prepare coffee and related beverages while helping the counter maintain consistent recipes and service flow. The senior role may also involve guiding junior colleagues and checking equipment readiness.

Junior Barista

You will prepare the counter, assist with beverage orders and keep utensils and machines clean under day-to-day team guidance. The position offers hands-on exposure to professional coffee service.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: every role begins on a contractual basis under MTDC.
• Possible regularisation: the corporation may consider a selected person for regularisation only after satisfactory performance and under its applicable service rules; the notice does not promise automatic regular appointment.
• Role choice: check the role-specific experience preference before choosing a post on the portal.
