Mathura Anganwadi Worker Recruitment 2026 - 236 Posts
The Office of the District Programme Officer, Mathura (Bal Vikas Seva Evam Pushtahar Vibhag, Uttar Pradesh) has started direct recruitment for 236 vacant Anganwadi Worker posts spread across 11 child development projects in Mathura district, covering both the city and village areas. This is a strong chance for local women who want to work in their own ward or gram sabha. These are honorarium-based posts under the ICDS programme, not regular pay-scale government jobs. The whole process is online only at upanganwadibharti.in — paper forms are not accepted.
An Anganwadi centre is the smallest unit of the ICDS scheme. It looks after the food, health and early learning of children below 6 years and supports pregnant women and new mothers nearby. As an Anganwadi Worker you run this centre for your own neighbourhood, which is why only local resident women are chosen. Most workers stay at the same centre for many years, so it is a stable long-term engagement close to home. The ICDS scheme is run by the state Women and Child Development set-up, and Anganwadi Workers are its key field-level staff who carry nutrition, health and pre-school services to every village and ward.
Vacancy Breakdown
All 236 posts are spread over 11 projects. Here is the project-wise split (highest first):
- Mathura Rural: 40 posts
- Goverdhan: 34 posts
- Baldeo: 30 posts
- Mathura City (Urban): 28 posts
- Chaumuhan: 21 posts
- Mant: 20 posts
- Chhata: 16 posts
- Farah: 16 posts
- Nandgaon: 15 posts
- Raya: 9 posts
- Nauhjheel: 7 posts
Only Mathura City is an urban project; the other ten are rural. The ward-wise and gram-sabha-wise list with reservation is put up on the notice boards of the Collectorate, Rajiv Bhawan, Tehsil and Block offices, and is also on upanganwadibharti.in.
