The Maharashtra Fire and Emergency Services Directorate, through its Fire Service Academy at Vidyanagari, Santacruz East, Mumbai, has released Advertisement No. MASE-2026/3/965 dated 15 July 2026 to fill 7 posts on a temporary contract basis for 11 months. These posts are open only to male candidates and are meant to support the Academy's growing fire training workload, since demand for fire training programmes has been rising steadily across the state. Candidates who have already completed the Academy's own firefighting courses — the Sub Station Officer/Fire Prevention Officer course or the Fireman Training course — are eligible to apply. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Instructor / Deputy Fire Officer (Rs. 30,520/month):

• You must have passed the Maharashtra Fire Service Academy's 1-year Sub Station Officer and Fire Prevention Officer course.
• You should have basic computer knowledge.
• Experienced candidates will be preferred.

For Driver-Machinist (Rs. 28,340/month):

• You must have completed the Academy's 6-month Fireman Training course.
• You must hold a valid heavy vehicle driving license.
• Experienced candidates will be preferred.

For Fireman / Extinguisher (Rs. 28,340/month):

• You must have completed the Academy's 6-month Fireman Training course.
• You should have basic computer knowledge.
• Experienced candidates will be preferred.

All posts are open only to male candidates, and selection will be based on your educational/technical qualification along with the interview.

Age Limit

• Your age should not exceed 38 years as on 15 July 2026, for all three posts.

Salary

• Junior Instructor / Deputy Fire Officer: Rs. 30,520 per month (consolidated pay).
• Driver-Machinist and Fireman/Extinguisher: Rs. 28,340 per month (consolidated pay).
• This is a fixed contract salary — the notification does not mention a separate pay matrix, DA, or HRA on top of this amount.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Screening: Based on your educational and technical qualifications as prescribed under the service entry rules for the post.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview. Experienced candidates get preference.

Before being appointed on contract, selected candidates must submit an affidavit on Rs. 50 stamp paper, a police character verification certificate, and a medical fitness certificate. Candidates with any court conviction will not be appointed.

3. Paste a passport-size photograph on the application.
4. Attach self-attested photocopies of your school leaving certificate, birth certificate, and educational/technical qualification certificates.
5. Sign the application yourself — incomplete or unsigned applications will not be considered.
6. Submit the application in person or by speed post to the Maharashtra Fire and Emergency Services Directorate, Vidyanagari, Santacruz East, Mumbai 400098, between 15 July 2026 and 24 July 2026, 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM, on working days (Saturdays and Sundays excluded).

If you are already employed elsewhere, you will need to submit a No Objection Certificate from your current employer before appointment. This appointment is purely temporary and does not lead to a regular/permanent post — you cannot claim regularization through pressure or a court case. If you break Academy rules, or show misconduct, inefficiency, or negligence during the contract period, your appointment can be ended immediately without prior notice. Likewise, if you wish to resign, you must give at least one month's written notice, otherwise your salary for that month will be deducted.

• Perform firefighting, rescue, and training duties as assigned by the department or office head

• Assist with lectures, office work, and the upkeep of Academy buildings
