MahaGenco Director (Projects & Fuel) Recruitment 2026

MSEB Holding Company Limited (MSEBHCL) is hiring for 2 Board-level Director posts in its power-generation company MahaGenco (MSPGCL) — Director (Projects) and Director (Fuel). MSEB Holding Company Limited (MSEBHCL) has released two advertisements — Advt No. 04/2026 for Director (Projects) and Advt No. 05/2026 for Director (Fuel) — to fill top posts on the Board of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL), popularly known as MahaGenco. MahaGenco is the largest power generator in Maharashtra. Both posts are at Board level and the selected person reports directly to the Chairman & Managing Director. A corrigendum dated 29 June 2026 has relaxed the experience rule and extended the last date to 15 July 2026, so more senior power-sector professionals can now apply.

Both are whole-time Board-level posts filled on a 3-year contract or deputation basis, with a performance review at the end of each year.

Who Can Apply?

Director (Projects) — Advt No. 04/2026

• You must be a Graduate Engineer in a relevant discipline with at least 20 years of experience in the relevant field.
• You need a minimum of 5 years at Chief Engineer level, out of which 1 year should be at one position below the Board in a State Electricity Board or the Board of a power-sector PSU.

Director (Fuel) — Advt No. 05/2026

• You must be a Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation with at least 20 years of experience in a power generation company or PSU, with full exposure to thermal power generation management.
• You need 5 years at Chief Engineer level (1 year at one position below the Board), OR at least 15 years in the All India Services with the Government of Maharashtra.

Other Options and Relaxation

• Private sector executives can also apply if their company has an annual turnover above Rs. 500 crore, is listed on a stock exchange, and they work at or just below Board level.
• One-time relaxation: As per the corrigendum, officers holding the post of Chief Engineer or equivalent with the required qualification and experience can also apply, even if they do not have experience at one position below the Board.
• Preference is given to candidates with an MBA or equivalent degree from a reputed management school.
• You should have strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to lead large teams.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 60 years as on 29 April 2026 (the date the advertisement was published).
• For Director (Fuel), candidates applying through the 15-year All India Service route can be up to 62 years.

Salary

• Pay is negotiable and largely comparable to what similar-sized PSUs offer for a Board-level Director.
• If you join on deputation from a Government body or PSU, your pay follows the normal deputation rules.
• You also get unfurnished accommodation at a concessional rent, or HRA if accommodation is not provided.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is done in these steps:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: A Selection Committee checks all applications and shortlists candidates against the benchmark it decides.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview and must attend at their own expense. The shortlist is shared by email only.
3. Document Verification: Your original documents are checked after you clear the final selection and before the appointment letter is issued.

The final selection is strictly on merit based on your interview.

2. Fill in the form and attach self-attested copies of your age, qualification and experience certificates.
3. Government and PSU officers must apply through proper channel and enclose their ACR dossier and cadre clearance for deputation.
4. Send the completed application by Speed Post, courier or by hand to the Chief General Manager (HR), MSEDCL, Prakashgad, 4th Floor, Bandra (East), Mumbai - 400051.
5. Write "Application for the post of Director (Projects)/(Fuel), MSPGCL" on top of the envelope.
6. Make sure your application reaches the office on or before 15 July 2026. If you already applied to the earlier advertisement, you need not apply again.
