LDCL has released a notification (F.NO.S/CR/2026-LDCL dated 05.05.2026) inviting applications for registration under the Fitter category from local candidates of Lakshadweep islands. The corporation, registered under the Recruitment and Placement Service Licence Number RPSL/CHN/011 (valid up to 16.08.2028), engages fitters for service onboard FG (Fishing/General) ships. Only local Lakshadweep candidates are eligible to apply for this position.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a valid Indian CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate), Indian Passport with valid STCW Course Certificate, Passenger Ship Familiarization Course Certificate, and Security Course. All certificates must be updated as per DG (Directorate General of Shipping) Norms.
• Domicile: You must be a local candidate of the Lakshadweep islands.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 3 years experience as a Fitter onboard FG Ships.
• Skills: You should have adequate experience in welding.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 60 years

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Document Verification: Your application along with attested copies of all relevant certificates and documents will be checked.
2. Registration: Eligible candidates will be registered under the Fitter category in the LDCL panel for placement onboard FG ships.

1. Download the application form from the LDCL notification at lakshadweep.gov.in.
2. Fill the form completely with all personal details, qualification, sea service details, and STCW course details.
3. Attach attested copies of all relevant certificates including CDC, Passport, STCW certificates, and educational qualifications.
4. Paste a recent passport size photograph on the form.
5. Submit the application by post or in person to reach the LDCL Kochi or Kavaratti office on or before 26 May 2026.
6. Applications received after the due date or without attested copies of all documents will be rejected.
