Kamdhenu University (KU) Research Associate & SRF Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The Directorate of Research at Kamdhenu University has announced a walk-in interview to fill 2 contractual research positions under two separate research schemes at the SMC College of Dairy Science, Anand. One post is for a Research Associate working on a whey-utilization research project, and the other is for a Senior Research Fellow working on a milk-adulteration detection project (scheme names below). Both posts are purely contractual and tied to the research project — there is no guarantee of continued employment after the scheme ends. Dairy Science, Dairy Chemistry and Dairy Technology graduates and postgraduates should apply. The Research Associate post is funded under the scheme "Utilization of Whey in Dairy and Food Products" (Budget Head: 0105060093), while the Senior Research Fellow post is funded under "Development of methods for detection of adulteration in milk and milk products" (Budget Head: 0105060088). Kamdhenu University was set up by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat Act No. 9 of 2009 as the dedicated Gujarat university for dairy science, animal husbandry and veterinary education, with its administrative headquarters at Gandhinagar.

Who Can Apply?

For Research Associate (Rs. 61,000-67,000/month):

• Qualification: You need a Ph.D. in Dairy Chemistry, OR an M.Tech in Dairy Chemistry/Dairy Technology with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade point average.
• Experience: M.Tech holders also need 3 years of relevant experience and at least one research paper published in an SCI or NAAS-rated (4.0 or above) journal.

For Senior Research Fellow (Rs. 37,000-42,000/month):

• Qualification: You need an M.Tech in Dairy Chemistry, Dairy Technology or Dairy Microbiology.

Age Limit

• Research Associate: Maximum 40 years for male candidates and 45 years for female candidates.
• Senior Research Fellow: Maximum 35 years for male candidates and 40 years for female candidates.

Salary

• Research Associate: Rs. 61,000 per month + HRA for Master's degree holders, and Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA for Ph.D. degree holders.
• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA for the 1st and 2nd year, rising to Rs. 42,000 per month + HRA in the 3rd year.
• Both positions are purely contractual and tied to the research scheme — there is no employment guarantee after the project ends, and services can be terminated without notice.

Selection Process

The selection will be done as follows:

1. Document Verification: Bring all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies to the venue.
2. Written Test (if needed): If there are more candidates than expected, a written test will be conducted first to shortlist candidates.
3. Walk-in Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on the same day.
