KRCL is hiring 16 Loco Pilot Shunters on a one-year re-employment basis. This opportunity is open only to retired Indian Railways or CPSU Loco Pilot staff (LPM/LPG/LPS). Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India undertaking that runs the railway line connecting Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka along India's west coast, has released Vacancy Notice No. 3 CO/P/E-RE/03/2026 dated 30 July 2026 for 16 Loco Pilot Shunter (LPS) posts on a re-employment basis. This drive is meant to meet KRCL's immediate manpower requirement and is open only to retired Loco Pilot staff of Indian Railways or Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs) who want to continue working for one more year. Only retired railway Loco Pilots can apply — this is not open to fresh candidates or the general public. The posting location can be anywhere within the jurisdiction of Konkan Railway, so you should be ready to work at any station or yard along this coastal route. Note that KRCL reserves the right to alter the number of vacancies or cancel the recruitment at its discretion, without assigning any reason, and the Corporation values the deep operational experience that only previously serving Loco Pilots can bring to shunting duties.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI in a relevant trade, OR Matriculation/SSLC with a completed Apprenticeship in these trades, OR 12th (Science) pass in regular schooling, OR a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering (or a combination of these engineering streams) from a recognised institution in lieu of ITI.
• ITI/Apprenticeship Trades Accepted: Armature & Coil Winder, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, Heat Engine/Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Millwright Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic Radio & TV, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic, Tractor Mechanic, Turner, and Wireman.
• Service Eligibility: You must be a retired Loco Pilot (LPM/LPG/LPS) of Indian Railways or a CPSU, applying for re-employment for a period of one year.
• Documents: Self-attested qualification certificates, Pension Payment Order (PPO), last Grade/Scale order showing designation, a Curriculum Vitae (CV) on a separate sheet, and 2 self-attested passport-size photographs.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 64 years old as on the date of notification (30 July 2026).
• The re-employment period, if selected, is fixed at one year.

Salary

• Pay is fixed under 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level-4 (corresponding to 6th CPC PB-1, Rs. 5,200-20,200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2,400).
• Your actual take-home pay will be your last basic pay minus your pension, calculated as per Railway Board re-employment guidelines issued from time to time.
• You will also get DA and other allowances as applicable under the same guidelines.

Selection Process

KRCL will select candidates through the following steps:

1. Screening of Applications: Your application in the Annexure A format, along with all enclosures, will be checked against the eligibility criteria, the notification number, and the post applied for.
2. Vigilance and D&AR Clearance: Your selection is subject to vigilance and disciplinary (D&AR) clearance, if required.
3. Final Selection: KRCL holds the right to alter the number of vacancies or the selection procedure, or to cancel the recruitment, without citing any reason.
