Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), a Government of India Undertaking under the Ministry of Railways with its Corporate Office at CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai, has released notification number CO/P-R/5C/2026 dated 30 April 2026 for 1 Assistant Electrical Engineer post on contract basis. Selection is through walk-in interview only — no online application is required. The initial contract period is one year, extendable based on performance and project requirement, with a 4% annual increase in remuneration.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Full-time Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering from an AICTE-recognised university with not less than 60% marks.
• Experience (Graduates): Minimum 6 years in loco maintenance, EMU / MEMU / traction rolling stock maintenance.
• Experience (Diploma holders): Minimum 8 years in loco maintenance, EMU / MEMU / traction rolling stock maintenance.
• Preference: Candidates with field exposure in preventive/predictive maintenance and breakdown analysis will be given preference.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years as on 01 March 2026.
• Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is discretionary.

Salary

• Basic Pay: Rs. 30,127 + DA: Rs. 17,473 per month.
• Other allowances (HRA, Conveyance, Mobile) by city class:
  • A Class city: Rs. 29,060 — total consolidated remuneration Rs. 76,660 per month
  • B Class city: Rs. 24,300 — total consolidated remuneration Rs. 71,900 per month
  • C Class city: Rs. 19,540 — total consolidated remuneration Rs. 67,140 per month
• Annual increase of 4% on consolidated remuneration after every completed year, subject to project requirements.
• Other benefits include reimbursement of life insurance premium up to Rs. 500/month, medical OPD allowance of Rs. 500/month, health insurance reimbursement up to Rs. 500/month, complimentary 2AC railway pass for duty travel, and earned leave of 15 days per 6 months.

Selection Process

The selection is through Walk-in Interview only. There is no written exam by default, but a Group Discussion or written elimination round may be added if too many candidates turn up.

1. Document Screening: KRCL officials check your application form, original certificates, and self-attested copies on the spot.
2. Group Discussion or Written Test (if needed): Introduced only if there are too many candidates.
3. Personal Interview: Provisionally eligible candidates are interviewed by a nominated KRCL committee.
4. Merit List: Final selection is based on interview performance, qualification, and post-qualification experience.
5. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must clear the prescribed medical fitness test before joining.

Be ready to stay for at least 2 days at your own cost. KRCL does not pay any travel or DA.

• Assist DyCEE/Loco in bid preparation and technical studies for electrical projects
• Support vendor identification and costing of tools, manpower, and spares
• Conduct loco shed and workshop site visits and prepare technical feasibility reports
• Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams along with OEM representatives
• Liaise with OEMs and specialist contractors for maintenance of electrical sub-systems including propulsion, transformer, brake control, and auxiliary systems
• Serve as the technical representative for all matters related to contract management
• Handle project management, quality assurance, and safety of works at site
• Assist in floating tenders, negotiations, finalisation of contracts, claims, and prepare reports for assigned works
