Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) — a Joint Venture of the Government of India and the Government of NCT of Delhi with about 14,000 employees — has issued advertisement number DMRC/PERS/22/HR/2026 (226) dated 30 April 2026 to fill One (01) post of General Manager (Rolling Stock) on Direct Recruitment or Deputation basis. The selection is by personal interview only — no written exam. The post code is 01/GM/RS. The successful candidate will manage Rolling Stock works for DMRC projects and operations.

Who Can Apply?

For All Applicants

• Must be an IRSEE Officer of Indian Railways with varied experience in the Rolling Stock department
• Must be conversant with functioning in a computerised environment
• Must be free from D&AR (Discipline & Appeal Rules) and Vigilance angle

Pay Scale Eligibility

• Must be working in CDA pay scale at Pay Matrix Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 - 2,18,200) as per the 7th CPC in Indian Railways
• Must have completed a total of 18 years of service (including services on deputation) at the Gazetted/Executive level

Age Limit

• For Direct Recruitment: Maximum age 57 years
• For Deputation: Maximum age 55 years
• The cut-off date for eligibility shall be reckoned as on 01 April 2026

Salary

• For Direct Recruitment basis: Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 2,80,000 per month under the IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) pay scale
• Plus Perks, Lease/HRA, Medical benefits, EPF, Gratuity, and Insurance as per DMRC rules
• For Deputation basis: Parent department pay plus deputation allowance as per applicable rules
• The normal age of retirement in DMRC is 60 years
• Tenure of deputation: 5 years, extendable up to 7 years in special cases or until superannuation

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The screening methodology depends on the basis of application:

1. For Deputation candidates: Personal Interview only.
2. For Direct Recruitment candidates: Personal Interview + Medical Fitness Examination in Executive/Technical category.
3. Document Verification: All eligibility documents, APARs, vigilance, and D&AR clearance certificates are verified.
4. Character & Antecedents Verification: The Corporation may conduct an enquiry to verify character and antecedents.
5. Surety Bond: The selected candidate must execute a Surety Bond of Rs. 4,00,000 to serve DMRC for a minimum of 3 years (or till superannuation).
6. Probation: Selected candidates are on probation for 1 year from the date of joining.

• Manage end-to-end Rolling Stock works for DMRC projects and operations
• Lead procurement, induction, and commissioning of new metro coaches and rolling stock systems
• Oversee maintenance planning, fleet availability, and reliability targets across DMRC depots
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards for rolling stock operations
• Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and consultants on rolling stock projects and modifications
• Drive cost optimisation and life-cycle management of the metro coach fleet
• Monitor performance KPIs and prepare reports for senior management and the Managing Director
• Mentor engineering teams and build technical capability across the Rolling Stock department
