Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRCL) Limited is recruiting technical O&M staff for metro operations in Gujarat. The notification number is GMRCL/HR/RECT/O&M/2026/15, dated 29 April 2026. This is a large technical recruitment for candidates who want to work in station operations, train operation, electronics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and metro maintenance across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, or other GMRCL projects in Gujarat.

Who Can Apply?

• SC/TO applicants need a diploma in the listed engineering disciplines from a Government recognized university or institute.
• Junior Engineer applicants need the required diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communications Engineering.
• Maintainer applicants need SSLC with a 2-year ITI in the specified trade.
• Degree holders in the specified diploma discipline can apply where diploma is the required qualification, but a diploma or degree will not replace ITI where ITI is required.

Age Limit

• SC/TO and Junior Engineer: 18 to 28 years as on the advertisement date.
• Maintainer: 18 to 25 years as on the advertisement date.
• Age reference date: 29 April 2026.
• SEBC/EWS/SC/ST male candidates of Gujarat origin: 5 years relaxation.
• SEBC/EWS/SC/ST women candidates of Gujarat origin: 10 years relaxation, including 5 years women relaxation.
• Unreserved women candidates: 5 years relaxation.
• Ex-servicemen: military service plus 3 years, maximum up to 45 years.

Salary

• SC/TO and Junior Engineer training stipend: Rs. 18,000 per month.
• Maintainer training stipend: Rs. 14,000 per month.
• Consolidated salary after training: Rs. 20,000 per month for SC/TO and Junior Engineer, and Rs. 16,000 per month for Maintainers.
• IDA pay scale after successful training and probation: Rs. 33,000-1,00,000 for SC/TO and Junior Engineer, and Rs. 20,000-60,000 for Maintainers.
• Training and probation: selected candidates undergo 2 years of training-cum-probation before the 5-year contractual term.

Physical Standards

• SC/TO: Aye-One (A-1) medical standard.
• Junior Engineer: Aye-One (A-1) category, not below Aye-Three (A-3).
• Maintainer: Bee-One (B-1) medical standard.
• Lasik surgery: candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery are not suitable for any of these posts.
• PwD availability: the notification says these technical posts are not available for persons with disability.

Application Fee

• Unreserved male candidates: Rs. 600, excluding bank charges and service tax.
• SC/ST/SEBC/EWS/Women/Ex-servicemen: Rs. 300, excluding bank charges and service tax.

Selection Process

1. Written Test - OMR-based MCQ test in English for all posts.
2. Psycho Aptitude Test - only for shortlisted Station Controller/Train Operator applicants.
3. Document Verification - original certificates and identity proof will be checked.
4. Medical Examination - you must meet the medical standard prescribed for the post.

SC/TO selection has a 3-stage process: written test, psycho aptitude test, document verification, and medical examination. Junior Engineer and Maintainer selection has written test, document verification, and medical examination.
