Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released Category No. 082/2026 for the post of Technical Assistant (Geographical Information System) in the Land Use Department. This is a direct recruitment for candidates with a technical background in drafting or surveying. No application fee is required for this post. National Apprenticeship Certificate holders get preference over National Trade Certificate holders, so if you hold this certification, make sure to highlight it in your application.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a National Trade Certificate (Draftsman Civil) or National Trade Certificate (Surveyor) — a two-year course — from an institution recognized by the Government of Kerala.
• Preference: National Apprenticeship Certificate holders will be given preference over National Trade Certificate holders.
• Equivalent Qualifications: If you hold a qualification recognized by the Kerala Government as equivalent or higher than the prescribed NTC qualification, you may also be considered eligible.
• Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment
• Probation: Once appointed, you will be on probation for two years on duty within a continuous period of three years from the date you join.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old, born between 2 January 1986 and 1 January 2008 (both dates included), as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates and Other Backward Communities candidates get the usual age relaxation as per government norms.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 31,100 to Rs. 66,800 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

KPSC will prepare a ranked list of selected candidates for this post. The ranked list stays valid for a minimum of one year and up to three years, and the Commission will advise more candidates from the same list if additional vacancies come up during this period.

1. Confirmation for Test (if applicable): If a written, OMR, or online test is conducted as part of this selection, you must submit a confirmation through your OTR profile within the given window to receive your admission ticket.
2. Document Verification: You must upload original documents proving your qualification, age, and community details whenever the Commission asks for them.

3. Log in to your profile using your User-ID and password.
4. Click on 'Apply Now' under the Category No. 082/2026 notification link.
5. Upload a photograph taken within the last 6 months if you have not already done so.
6. Submit your application and keep a printout or soft copy for future reference.
