The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released Category No. 093/2026 for 2 Non Vocational Teacher (Chemistry - Senior) posts under the Kerala Vocational Higher Secondary Education Department. This is a Special Recruitment drive reserved exclusively for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates — applications from candidates outside this category will be rejected. No application fee is required. This is a good opportunity for ST candidates with a Chemistry postgraduate degree, B.Ed and SET qualification to join Kerala Government service on a permanent basis.

Who Can Apply?

• Category: Only Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Kerala State can apply for this post.
• Qualification: Master's Degree in Chemistry with at least 45% marks from a Kerala university (or equivalent).
• Teaching Qualification: B.Ed Degree in Chemistry (or a related subject where Chemistry B.Ed holders are not available).
• Eligibility Test: You must have passed the State Eligibility Test (SET) for Non Vocational Teacher in Chemistry, conducted by the Kerala Government.
• Exemptions: Candidates who have passed SLET (for College Lecturer), SET for HSST, NET/JRF, or who hold a Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed are exempted from the SET requirement.

Age Limit

• You should be between 23 and 49 years old as on 1 January 2026 — only candidates born between 2 January 1977 and 1 January 2003 (both dates included) can apply.
• Age Relaxation: If qualified candidates are not available within this age limit, the upper age limit can be relaxed up to 50 years — but never beyond that.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 55,200 to Rs. 1,15,300 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on your rank in the ranked list prepared for this notification:

1. Written Test / OMR Test / Online Test (if conducted): Only candidates who confirm through their One Time Registration profile can appear. Admission tickets are available in the last 15 days before the test date.
2. Document Verification: You must produce original documents proving your qualification, age, community and eligibility test certificates when asked.

Candidates with a non-qualifying Ph.D, M.Phil or Post Doctoral Fellowship in the relevant subject get weightage marks: M.Phil - 2 marks, Ph.D - 4 marks, both M.Phil and Ph.D - 5 marks, Post Doctoral Fellowship - 2 marks. Once appointed, you will serve a 2-year probation period within a continuous 3-year period. The ranked list will remain valid for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years.
