Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) Caulker Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Kerala Public Service Commission (Kerala PSC) has issued a Second NCA (Notified Community Allotment) Notification, Category No. 105/2026, for the post of Caulker in the Kerala State Water Transport Department. A caulker is a skilled tradesperson who seals joints and seams on boat hulls to keep them watertight, and repairs and maintains boats at the department's boat building yards. This vacancy is reserved for the Muslim community against the ranked list published on 29 July 2024 for the post notified in the gazette dated 28 February 2022 (Category No. 012/2022). This is the second such notification — it was issued because no eligible candidates from the Muslim community were available in response to the first NCA notification published on 31 December 2024 (Category No. 778/2024). If you have the required trade experience, this is a good chance to get a stable government job.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Pass in SSLC (10th) or its equivalent qualification.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Caulker in a Government-approved Boat Building Yard.
• Community: Only candidates from the Muslim community in Kerala are eligible to apply for this NCA vacancy.
• You must obtain an experience certificate in the prescribed format from your employer, giving the certificate number, date, post held, period of work, and issuing authority, and upload it while applying.
• Equivalent or higher qualifications recognized by the Government through executive or standing orders are also accepted.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 43 years old. Only candidates born between 2 January 1983 and 1 January 2008 (both dates included) can apply for this post.
• This age band already includes the standard relaxation under Para 2(i) of the General Conditions. For any additional relaxation you may be eligible for, check Part II, Para 2 of the General Conditions in the gazette notification.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 24,400 to Rs. 55,200 per month as per the applicable Kerala Government pay scale.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.
• Once appointed, you will be on probation for 2 years within a continuous period of 3 years of service.

Selection Process

The selection for this NCA vacancy follows these steps:

1. Application Screening: Kerala PSC checks your One Time Registration (OTR) profile, community declaration, and uploaded experience certificate against the notification requirements.
2. Merit Ranking: Candidates are ranked based on their qualification and verified work experience as a Caulker.
3. Document Verification: Your SSLC certificate, experience certificate, age, and community certificates are checked before appointment. The genuineness of your experience certificate will be scrutinized, and legal action can follow if it is found to be bogus.
4. Advice and Appointment: Candidates are advised for appointment from the ranked list against the Muslim community vacancy as it becomes available.

Note: If a Written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, you must confirm your intention to write the exam through your OTR profile within the stipulated time.
