Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) Assistant Professor (Kayachikitsa) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) has released Category No. 092/2026 for the post of Assistant Professor in Kayachikitsa under the Ayurveda Medical Education Department. This is a Special Recruitment drive reserved exclusively for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Kerala State — applications from candidates of any other category will be rejected without individual notice. No application fee is required. This is a good opportunity for ST candidates with a postgraduate Ayurveda qualification to join Kerala Government service on a permanent basis.

Who Can Apply?

• Category: Only Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates of Kerala State can apply for this post.
• Qualification: A Postgraduate Degree in Ayurveda in Kayachikitsa from any University in Kerala, or an equivalent qualification recognized by a Kerala university.
• Registration: You must hold Permanent 'A' Class Registration with the Travancore-Cochin Medical Council (Council of Indigenous Medicine).
• Note: If postgraduate holders in Kayachikitsa are not available, postgraduate qualifications prescribed by the Central Council of Indian Medicine will also be considered.

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 50 years old as on 1 January 2026 — only candidates born between 2 January 1976 and 1 January 2006 (both dates included) can apply.
• No other age relaxation will be allowed for this post.

Salary

• Salary for this post is as per UGC norms for Assistant Professors.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on your rank in the ranked list prepared for this notification:

1. Written Test / OMR Test / Online Test (if conducted): Only candidates who confirm through their One Time Registration profile can appear. Admission tickets are available in the last 15 days before the test date.
2. Document Verification: You must produce original documents proving your qualification, age, community and registration when asked.

Once appointed, you will serve a 2-year probation period within a continuous 3-year period. The ranked list from this notification will remain valid for a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 3 years, and will also be used for future ST-only vacancies reported during this period.
