Vacancy Details by Category

Vacancy Distribution:

• Each calendar year has 50 vacancies allotted (250 total for 2020-2024), with approximately 5 vacancies carried forward from surplus in 2023-2024 years.
• Out of every 50 annual vacancies: 25 posts are for General category (individual sportspersons) and 25 posts for Team/Alternate category sportspersons.
• Within each 50, two positions are reserved for financially weaker sections among sportspersons.

Who Can Apply?

You must be an outstanding sportsperson who has represented India or Kerala at recognised competitions. The educational qualification varies by post category:

Category I - Assistant Engineer (Rs. 55,200-1,15,300)

• Qualification: B.Tech degree or equivalent in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university

Category II - Assistant Surgeon (Rs. 63,700-1,23,700)

• Qualification: MBBS degree with State Medical Council registration

Category III - State Tax Officer (Rs. 55,200-1,15,300)

• Qualification: Degree in Law, or CA (Inter), or M.Com, or MBA (Finance) from a recognised university

Category IV - Draftsman Grade I (Rs. 37,400-79,000)

• Qualification: Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution

Category V - Assistant / Auditor (Rs. 39,300-83,000)

• Qualification: Any degree from a recognised university

Categories VI & VII - Clerk / LD Typist (Rs. 26,500-60,700)

• Clerk: SSLC (10th Pass) or equivalent
• LD Typist: SSLC pass + Lower Grade Typewriting certificate in English and Malayalam (KGTE) + Computer Word Processing certificate

Category VIII - Confidential Assistant Gr-II / Steno Typist Gr-II (Rs. 27,900-63,700)

• Qualification: Plus Two (12th Pass) + Lower Grade Typewriting and Shorthand certificates in English and Malayalam (KGTE)

Categories IX, X & XII - Teachers (Rs. 35,600-87,000)

• HST: Degree + B.Ed + K-TET qualification
• UP School Teacher: Degree + B.Ed/TTC + K-TET
• LP School Teacher: Degree + TTC + K-TET
• Physical Education Teacher: B.P.Ed degree + K-TET

Category XI - Office Attendant (Rs. 23,000-50,200)

• Qualification: Must have passed Standard VII (Class 7). Must not have acquired any degree

Sports Achievement Requirements

You must have represented India or Kerala in recognised competitions. Eligible competitions include:

• Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games
• National Games, Senior National Championships
• All India Inter-University Championships, Khelo India University Games
• Commonwealth Championships, Asian Championships (newly added)
• Recognised international championships with at least 8 participating countries (newly added)

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 36 years old.
• Age reference date: January 1 of the year following the vacancy year (e.g., for 2020 vacancies, age is calculated as on 01 January 2021).
• Age relaxation: Statutory age relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories as per Kerala Government rules.
• Age limit as per 1958 K.S. & S.S.R. rules — municipal/panchayat/state government candidates and other categories get relaxation as applicable.

Salary

• Highest Pay: Rs. 63,700 - 1,23,700 per month (Assistant Surgeon)
• Officer Grade: Rs. 55,200 - 1,15,300 per month (Assistant Engineer, State Tax Officer)
• Teacher Grade: Rs. 35,600 - 87,000 per month (HST, UPST, LPST, PE Teacher)
• Assistant/Auditor: Rs. 39,300 - 83,000 per month
• Clerk/Typist Grade: Rs. 26,500 - 63,700 per month
• Lowest Pay: Rs. 23,000 - 50,200 per month (Office Attendant)
• Plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Kerala Government rules

Selection Process (Merit-Based)

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is based entirely on your sports achievements:

2. Merit Ranking: Sports achievements are ranked using a point system defined in Annexure I of the notification. Points range from 235 (Olympic Gold Medal) down to 15 (District Inter-District Championship winner).

4. Medical Examination: Selected candidates undergo a medical fitness check.
