Department of Women, Child, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare (WDCW), Kamareddy District Anganwadi Recruitment 2026 - 190 Posts

The Department of Women, Child, Disabled and Senior Citizens Welfare, Kamareddy District, Government of Telangana has released notification A/262/2026 dated 8 July 2026 for filling 190 vacant Anganwadi Teacher (AWT) and Anganwadi Helper (AWH) posts across 5 ICDS projects in the district. Anganwadi centers form the backbone of India's Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, providing early childhood education, nutrition and healthcare support to young children and their mothers in every village and ward. There is no written exam — selection is purely merit-based on your Intermediate marks. Only local women residing in the same Gram Panchayat or ward as the Anganwadi center can apply for that particular center, and the District Collector, Kamareddy has issued this notification with full authority to modify or cancel it if required.

Who Can Apply?

For Anganwadi Teacher (AWT):

  • Qualification: You must have passed Intermediate (12th class) without any pending backlogs.
  • Anganwadi Teacher is the primary caregiver-educator role, running daily pre-school sessions and keeping records for every child registered at the center.

For Anganwadi Helper (AWH):

  • Qualification: Intermediate pass is preferred. If no Intermediate-pass candidate is available in that habitation, 10th class pass candidates will be considered.
  • Domicile: You must be a permanent local resident of the Gram Panchayat (rural areas) or Ward (urban areas) where the Anganwadi center is located. Residence proof must be from at least one year before this notification.
  • Anganwadi Teacher and Helper posts notified under SC/ST sub-plan areas are reserved only for SC/ST candidates residing in that same habitation.
  • Reservation: You can apply only for the specific roster point/community category notified for that post. Applying under a wrong category leads to cancellation of your candidature at any stage.
  • Name Change: If your name in the certificates has changed, it will be accepted only if supported by a gazette notification or a court order.
  • Persons with Disabilities: You can also apply if your disability does not affect your ability to perform Anganwadi duties — for example, if you are hearing-impaired but can hear using a hearing aid, or visually impaired but can perform duties independently without assistance.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 1 July 2026.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit — there is no written exam:

  1. Academic Merit: Your Intermediate qualifying marks are converted to 70 marks.
  2. Special Category Marks: Widows get 5 bonus marks, orphans get 10 bonus marks, and persons with disability get 5 bonus marks.
  3. Interview: The District Selection Committee interview carries 10 marks.
  4. Document Verification: If shortlisted, you must submit original documents with 2 attested (gazetted) photocopies and 1 self-attested photocopy at the concerned ICDS Project office between 28 July 2026 and 1 August 2026, during office working hours.

Candidates who fail to submit their documents for verification within this window will not be considered for selection, so mark these dates carefully. The final merit list is drawn up using your combined academic, special category, and interview marks — out of a maximum of 100.
