Who Can Apply?

For Junior Clerk, Junior Typist, Copyist and Stenographer Grade-III:

  • Qualification: You must have passed +3 (graduation) or an equivalent examination from a recognized university.
  • Computer Skill: A Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute is compulsory.
  • For Stenographer Grade-III: You also need a certificate in Stenography (Shorthand and English Typewriting) from a recognized institute.
  • For Junior Typist: You also need a certificate in English Typewriting from a recognized institute.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and must have passed an Odia test equivalent to the M.E. Standard.
  • Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India, of good character, and in sound health.

For Salaried Amin:

  • Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
  • Training: You must have completed Revenue Inspector Training.
  • Computer Skill: Basic knowledge of computer applications is required.
  • Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and must have passed an Odia test equivalent to the M.E. Standard.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on 13 August 2026 (the last date for receipt of applications).
  • Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed for SC, ST, SEBC, PwD, sportspersons and ex-servicemen candidates as per applicable Odisha Government rules.

Salary

  • Junior Clerk, Junior Typist and Copyist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level-4 of the ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level-5 of the ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level-7 of the ORSP Pay Matrix, 2017).
  • You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Odisha Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection is done through a written test followed by a skill test and viva-voce. The exact pattern depends on the post you apply for:

Junior Clerk and Copyist:

  1. Written Test (Part-I): English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour) and General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour).
  2. Computer Science Test (Part-II): Practical test for 100 marks in 1 hour.
  3. Viva-voce (Part-III): 45 marks.

Stenographer Grade-III and Junior Typist:

  1. Written Test (Part-I): English, qualifying in nature, 100 marks in 2 hours.
  2. Skill Test (Part-II): Shorthand and typing test for Stenographer Grade-III, or typing test only for Junior Typist — each for 50 marks. Typing is done on a computer, in English only.
  3. Computer Science Test (Part-III): Practical test for 100 marks in 1 hour.
  4. Viva-voce (Part-IV): 35 marks.

Salaried Amin:

  1. Written Test (Part-I): Arithmetic (10th standard level), Technical Knowledge in Survey and Settlement, English and Handwriting in Odia.
  2. Practical Test (Part-II): Technical Knowledge in Survey and Settlement, 50 marks in 30 minutes.
  3. Viva-voce (Part-III): 30 marks.

Candidates applying for more than one post can appear in the examination for only one post of their choice, since the written exam for all posts is held on the same day. Shortlisting for the written exam is done in a 1:20 ratio based on advertised vacancies.
