JPSC is hiring 90 Assistant Professors in Super Speciality departments for Government Medical Colleges in Jharkhand. If you hold a DM, DNB, DrNB, or M.Ch degree in the relevant super speciality, you can apply online. The last date to apply is 12 May 2026. These are permanent government posts with a salary of Rs. 67,700 per month (7th Pay Matrix, Level-11). Minimum age is 30 years as on 01 August 2025.

Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released Advertisement No. 07/2026 dated 15 April 2026 for 90 permanent Assistant Professor posts across 10 super speciality departments in Government Medical Colleges of Jharkhand — including Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College Dhanbad, MGM Medical College Jamshedpur, Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hazaribagh, Medinirai Medical College Palamu, Phool–Jano Medical College Dumka, and others. Qualifications are governed by Medical Institutions (Qualifications of Faculty) Regulations, 2025 notified by the National Medical Commission (NMC). There is no written examination — selection is entirely merit and interview based.

Teaching and Research Experience

Other Conditions
- Reservation benefits are available only for permanent residents of Jharkhand.
- In-service doctors currently working in Jharkhand State Health Services who fulfil NMC qualification criteria will be considered first as per Point 10 of the notification.
- You must submit a Domicile Certificate from the competent authority to claim reservation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection is based on academic merit and interview as per the Jharkhand Medical Education Service (Appointment, Promotion and Service Conditions) Rules, 2018, Chapter-4 and Annexure 'B'. The process has two parts:
- Academic Merit Scoring (out of 41 marks):
- Total marks in three MBBS university exams: max 5 marks (70%+ = 5, 65-70% = 4, 60-65% = 3, 55-60% = 2, 50-55% = 1)
- Marks in applied specialty subject (MCI-recommended): max 5 marks (same scoring scale)
- MD/MS (equivalent approved by MCI): 10 marks
- PhD/DM/M.Ch in same specialty: 10 marks
- Government sector work experience: 2 marks per year, max 10 marks
- Publications in Jharkhand State Medical Journal: max 2 marks (1 mark each, max 2)
- Publications in All India Medical Journals or International journals: max 2 marks (2 marks each, max 2)
- Interview (6 marks): Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on academic merit scores
Minimum qualifying score: You need at least 18 marks out of 47 to be eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor.
Note: MBBS marks from MRCS0P0, FCRS0S0 etc. obtained after 11.11.1978 will NOT be awarded any marks.

Responsibilities
- Teach super speciality postgraduate students and residents in assigned departments of government medical colleges
- Conduct clinical rounds, supervise patient management, and guide junior doctors in super speciality procedures
- Prepare teaching materials, case presentations, and assessment papers for postgraduate programs
- Conduct and publish original research in peer-reviewed medical journals
- Participate in departmental committees, academic boards, and institutional governance activities
- Follow NMC faculty regulations and Jharkhand Medical Education Service rules in all academic and clinical duties
- Assist in organising CME programs, workshops, and academic conferences at the medical college
- Maintain proper records of student performance, clinical cases, and research activities
