Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital, Sambamurthy Nagar, Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) has issued Advertisement No. 02/2026 for the post of Senior Resident on Contractual Basis in the General Medicine department. The initial tenure is 39 days, extendable for another 39 days based on satisfactory performance and availability of vacancy. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (Option 1): Post Graduate Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in the concerned specialty (General Medicine) from a recognised university.
• Qualification (Option 2): Candidates with at least 2 years of working experience after completing MBBS in the concerned specialty/discipline.
• Not Eligible: Candidates who have already worked as a Senior Resident under the Central Residency Scheme for 3 years are not eligible to apply.
• Registration: You must be registered with the State Medical Council/NMC as applicable before joining the post.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as on the date of the walk-in interview (17 April 2026).
• Age relaxation as per government rules for eligible categories.

Salary

• Consolidated salary of Rs. 1,28,630 per month.
• Note: No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the walk-in interview. Hostel accommodation or quarters will not be provided.

• All other categories: Rs. 500/-
• Payment mode: Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 500/- in favour of 'ESI Fund Account No. 1' drawn on any scheduled bank, payable at Kakinada. Submit DD with your application at the time of document verification.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded. Only Demand Drafts drawn on a scheduled bank will be accepted — fee paid by any other mode will not be accepted. The DD must be issued after the date of this advertisement.

Selection Process

1. Walk-in Interview: Appear on 17 April 2026 at 9:00 AM at ESIC Hospital, Sambamurthy Nagar, Kakinada. No candidate will be considered who fails to report by 9:00 AM.
2. Document Scrutiny: The scrutiny committee of the hospital will check your submitted documents on the day of the walk-in.
3. Screening Test (if required): The selection committee may devise criteria for short-listing, including a screening test, if the number of applicants is large.
4. Interview Before Selection Board: Selection will be based on your performance in the interview before the Selection Board.

Result will be published on the ESIC website at esic.gov.in/recruitments. Selected candidates must join immediately after the offer of engagement.

• Provide clinical care to patients admitted in the General Medicine ward under the supervision of senior consultants
• Conduct daily ward rounds, assess patient progress, and update treatment plans
• Handle patient admissions, discharges, and maintain accurate medical records
• Assist the Medical Superintendent and specialist doctors during clinical procedures and emergencies
• Attend emergency duty, floor duty, and other clinical duties as assigned by the competent authority
• Work in other departments as required and follow all ESIC hospital rules and administrative guidelines
• Maintain the Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) during all scheduled working days
