JNCASR Junior Site Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is engaging a Junior Site Engineer on contract to support its construction, civil and maintenance work. JNCASR is an autonomous research institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, as well as a deemed university. This role connects day-to-day site supervision with the needs of an active research campus, where engineering work has to stay aligned with drawings, specifications, budgets and ongoing institutional activity.

You will follow projects from planning through completion, keeping the project manager and other stakeholders informed about progress, milestones and possible risks. The work includes studying engineering drawings and survey reports, arranging resources and equipment, checking that execution matches the approved plan, and giving technical guidance when construction problems arise. Someone comfortable coordinating several teams and projects will be better placed to manage the practical pace of the assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract status: The assignment is temporary and does not create a claim to a regular position at the Centre.
• Initial tenure: The engagement begins with a one-year term and may be extended if JNCASR still needs the role and your performance is satisfactory.
• Full-time commitment: The selected person cannot take another assignment during the contract period.
• Working hours: You must follow the Centre's working hours and record attendance through its online system.
• Facilities: JNCASR will provide only basic work facilities and infrastructure. It will not provide residential transport, telephone or internet facilities.
• Project control: You will need to balance construction methods, materials, regulations, sustainability, budgeting and cost control while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Institutional discretion: The Centre may accept or reject some or all responses without assigning a reason.
• Incomplete submissions: Applications arriving late or without supporting documents will not be considered.
