The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released notification for 130 vacancies across six departments — Agriculture Production, ARI & Trainings, Industries & Commerce, Higher Education, Home, and Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs. Selection is purely merit-based through a written/OMR examination for all posts. Only J&K domicile candidates are eligible. Online applications open on 22 June 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Qualifications vary by post. Here are the main ones:

Trade Posts (Electrician, Plumber, Fitter, Weaver)

• Matric (10th) with ITI in the relevant trade (Electrical, Plumbing, Fitter, Weaving etc.).

Technician and Diploma Posts

• Three-year Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a Diploma in Textile/Handloom Technology for the relevant posts.

Graduate Posts (Copy Holder, Caretaker, Library Assistant, Loan Inspector)

• Graduation from a recognised university; Bachelor's of Library Science for Library Assistant; Commerce Graduate with Economics for Loan Inspector.

Laboratory Assistant (Forensic Science Lab)

• Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science, Medical subjects, or Electronics/Computer Science/IT from a UGC-recognised university.

Domicile: You must be a domicile of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir and hold a valid Domicile Certificate on or before 21 July 2026.

Age Limit

Age is calculated as on 01 January 2026:

• Open Merit (OM): Maximum 40 years
• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / RBA / ALC-IB / EWS / OBC: Maximum 43 years
• Physically Challenged Persons: Maximum 42 years
• Ex-Servicemen: Maximum 48 years

Salary

• Salaries depend on the pay level of each post under the 7th CPC.
• SL-1: Rs. 14,800 - 47,100 (e.g. Weaver)
• Level-2: Rs. 19,900 - 63,200 (e.g. Plumber, Machineman, Library Assistant)
• Level-4: Rs. 25,500 - 81,100 (e.g. Electrician, Caretaker, Laboratory Assistant)
• Level-6: Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400 (e.g. Head Weaver, Assistant Extension Officer)
• Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per J&K Government rules.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / RBA / ALC-IB: Rs. 600
• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / EWS / PwBD: Rs. 500
• Payment mode: Online only (Net Banking, Credit or Debit Card).
• The fee once paid is not refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Selection is based on the following:

1. Written / OMR Examination: Objective type Multiple Choice Questions set in English only. There is negative marking of one-fourth of the marks for each wrong answer.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original Domicile, Category, Qualification and other certificates valid as on the cut-off date.

Final allotment of posts, services and cadre is made on a merit-cum-preference basis.

2. Register and fill the online application form for the item number(s) you are eligible for.
3. Upload your live photograph, signature, category certificate and qualification certificates (in PDF, as per the size limits).
4. Pay the application fee online.
5. Submit the form and take a printout for your records. Do not send hard copies to the Board.
