JKSSB Health Staff Recruitment 2026 — 239 Vacancies

JKSSB has released notification for 239 Health Staff posts under the Health and Medical Education Department at SKIMS Soura, Jammu and Kashmir. JKSSB Health and Medical Education Department Recruitment 2026 - 239 Posts

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2026, dated 23.01.2026, for filling up 239 UT Cadre posts in the Health and Medical Education Department at SKIMS Soura. This recruitment covers 19 different posts across nursing, pharmacy, laboratory technology, physiotherapy, and support staff categories. Nursing Aid G-III has the highest vacancies at 59 posts, followed by Technician G-II (Lab Group) with 32 posts and Attendant with 25 posts. Candidates who are domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir should apply before the extended deadline.

• You need a B.Sc Nursing or Post-Basic Nursing degree from a recognised institution.

For Technician G-II Posts (Level 4):

• Radiation Group: B.Sc in Radiation Technology
• Theatre Group: B.Sc in Theatre Technology
• Perfusionist: B.Sc in Perfusion Technology

For Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Allied Posts (Level 4):

• Junior Pharmacist G-II: B.Pharmacy from a Government-recognised institution
• Jr. Basic Physiotherapist G-II: Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy
• Chest Physiotherapist: Degree in Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation Therapy OR Diploma with 2 years' experience plus registration from Rehabilitation Council of India
• Jr. Occupational Therapist: Degree in Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation Therapy OR Diploma with 2 years' experience
• Speech Therapist: Degree in Audiology and Speech Language Therapy OR Diploma with 2 years' experience plus Rehabilitation Council registration
• Library Assistant G-II: B.Lib / B.LIS
• Vocational Counsellor: Master's Degree in Career Counselling, HRM, Sociology, Social Work, or Rehabilitation Psychology
• Assistant Cook G-II: 10+2 with 1.5 years Diploma in Food Production from a recognised institute, plus 2 years' experience in a registered Hotel/Catering Institution/Hospital

For Clerk and Record Posts (Level 2):

• Junior Store Clerk: BBA/B.Com from a recognised university with 6 months Computer Course
• Medical Record Assistant: 10+2 with Diploma in Medical Records from a recognised institution, plus 6 months Computer Certificate

For Support Staff Posts (SL1):

• Nursing Aid G-III: 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)
• Attendant (AGC G-II): Minimum Matric, Maximum 10+2
• Barber G-III: Matric with professional knowledge of trade

You must be a Domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate from the Competent Authority is mandatory.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 01 January 2026 (for Open Merit category).
• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / RBA / ALC-IB / OBC / EWS: Maximum 43 years (3 years relaxation)
• Physically Challenged (PwBD): Maximum 42 years (2 years relaxation)
• Ex-Servicemen: Maximum 48 years (8 years relaxation)

Salary

• Staff Nurse G-II: Pay Level 6D, salary from Rs 35,800 to Rs 1,13,200 per month
• Technician G-II / Pharmacist / Physiotherapist / Allied Posts: Pay Level 4, salary from Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100 per month
• Junior Store Clerk / Medical Record Assistant: Pay Level 2, salary from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,200 per month
• Attendant / Barber / Nursing Aid: Pay Scale SL1, salary from Rs 14,800 to Rs 47,100 per month
• You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per UT of J&K Government rules.

• SC / ST-1 / ST-2 / EWS / PwBD: Rs 500

• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Written/OMR Examination: Objective type MCQ exam set in English language only. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The syllabus will be notified separately on the JKSSB website.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called with original certificates including Domicile Certificate, Qualification Certificate, Category Certificate, and other required documents.

2. Click on "Apply for Various Posts" and register yourself if you are a new user.
3. Log in and fill in the online application form carefully.
4. Upload your photograph, signature, and required documents.
5. Upload your Category Certificate (valid as on the cut-off date) if applying under reserved category.
6. Pay the application fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card.
7. Submit the form and take a printout for future reference.

Only one application per Item Number is allowed. If more than one application is detected for the same post, only the latest application will be considered.

• Follow hospital safety guidelines, infection control procedures, and standard operating protocols
• Assist doctors and senior medical staff during rounds, surgeries, diagnostic procedures, and emergencies
• Keep the assigned work area clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies
• Report any issues, equipment malfunctions, or patient concerns to the supervising authority promptly
