The Office of the Child Development Project Officer, B.K. Pora, Budgam has released an advertisement to fill 14 vacancies of Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Helper under the Poshan Project B.K. Pora. Selection is done purely on merit — marks obtained in 10+2 decide the Anganwadi Worker posts, with no written exam or interview involved. Who Can Apply?

For Anganwadi Worker (Sangini):

• Qualification: Minimum 10+2, maximum Graduation. Candidates with qualifications higher than graduation will not be considered.
• Domicile: Must be a domicile of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
• Gender: Only women candidates can apply.
• Residence: You must be a resident of the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located — your name must appear in the voter list for that ward.

For Anganwadi Helper (Sahayika):

• Qualification: Minimum Matriculation. If no matriculate candidate is available in the ward, candidates with at least 8th standard qualification will be considered.
• Domicile: Must be a domicile of the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
• Gender: Only women candidates can apply.
• Preference: The most destitute/needy married woman in the ward who fulfils the criteria gets priority; unmarried candidates are considered only if no eligible married candidate is available.

Age Limit

• Women candidates should be between 18 and 37 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Tie-breaker: If two candidates are equally meritorious, the one with higher age will be preferred.

Salary

• These posts are on an honorarium basis — the exact honorarium is as per the J&K Government's Anganwadi Worker/Helper honorarium rates.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for both posts is done purely on merit:

1. For Anganwadi Worker: Selection is based on marks obtained in 10+2 — there is no written test or interview.
2. For Anganwadi Helper: The committee selects the most destitute/needy married woman in the ward who meets the qualification criteria.
3. Bonus Points: If an eligible candidate is available within the family of a retiring Worker/Helper, that candidate gets 2 additional percent points.
4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original mark sheets, date of birth/matriculation certificate, domicile certificate, and unmarried certificate (where required).

1. Get the application form in the prescribed format (Annexure A) from the office of the Child Development Project Officer, B.K. Pora.
2. Fill in your personal details, ward number, and academic qualification with marks.
3. Attach a photograph attested by a Gazetted Officer along with the affidavit in Annexure C.
