Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has released a notification for 7 contractual positions across multiple Zonal Offices and Lead District Offices. The recruitment covers 5 Zonal Security Officer posts in Kathua, Ladakh, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, plus 2 FL Counsellor posts at Lead District Offices in Shopian and Poonch. There is no written exam — selection is purely through screening and personal interview. Retired DSP-rank police officers and retired senior bank managers are the primary target candidates.

Vacancy Breakdown

• Zonal Security Officer: 5 posts (1 each for Kathua, Ladakh, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore Zonal Offices)
• FL Counsellor: 2 posts (1 each for Lead District Office Shopian and Lead District Office Poonch)

Who Can Apply?

For Zonal Security Officer (Rs. 45,000/month):

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline, preferably from a recognised University or Institute
• Experience: You must have served in the rank of DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) or equivalent in Police, Army, or Paramilitary forces
• Minimum Experience: At least 3 years as DSP or equivalent with excellent service record

For FL Counsellor (Rs. 22,000/month):

• Qualification: Graduate with experience in Banking or related fields
• Knowledge: Sound knowledge of Banking, Law, Finance, Agriculture and allied activities
• Skills: Communication and team building skills, working knowledge of computers, local language knowledge is essential
• Preference: Honourably retired J&K Bank officers not below Senior Manager (Scale-III) rank are preferred. Candidates who have conducted Financial Literacy Camps also get preference.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

• Zonal Security Officer: Maximum 62 years
• FL Counsellor: Maximum 65 years (also on the first day of each calendar year of contract renewal)

Salary

• Zonal Security Officer: Rs. 45,000 per month. TA/DA admissible for official tours. No Pension, PF, or Gratuity. Taxes deducted at source.
• FL Counsellor: Rs. 22,000 per month plus monthly conveyance, mobile/telephone charges, and performance-linked incentives.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will happen in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Applications screened on the basis of qualification, experience, and suitability
2. Personal Interview / Interaction: Shortlisted candidates called to assess knowledge, experience, communication, teaching skills (for FL Counsellor), and overall suitability. For FL Counsellors, a demonstration/presentation may also be required.

Shortlisted candidates must appear for interview at the designated venue at their own cost. Call letters are sent only by email.

Contract Tenure

• Zonal Security Officer: 3 years (no renewal after 3 years), subject to annual performance review
• FL Counsellor: 12 months initial, renewable up to 3 years subject to satisfactory performance. One-month notice required for discontinuation.

For Zonal Security Officer:

• Implement and review the Bank's Security Policy across the assigned zone
• Plan and execute security at all Bank premises as per RBI, IBA, and Government of India guidelines
• Maintain efficiency, training, and discipline of security staff working under you
• Liaise closely with Police, Fire Services, and State/Central authorities for security coordination
• Provide professional inputs to Central Security Department to keep the security setup foolproof

For FL Counsellor:

• Provide free financial literacy, education, and credit counselling to rural and urban public
• Conduct at least 2 digital and 5 target-specific financial literacy camps per month
• Educate people about formal financial products, savings, responsible borrowing, and debt management
• Formulate debt restructuring plans for borrowers in distress and recommend them to financial institutions
• Organise open-house seminars and group counselling sessions in the district
