About This Job

The Social Security Cell (Samajik Suraksha Koshang), Jamtara has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 for the recruitment of Sahayak Vyakti (Support Person) under the POCSO Act 2012 and ICPS/Mission Vatsalya scheme. These positions are based at the District Child Protection Unit, Jamtara, Jharkhand. The number of vacancies depends on the case load in the district (ratio 1:10). Jamtara ICPS Support Person Recruitment 2026

The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Sub-Divisional Magistrate), Jamtara, through its Social Security Cell and District Child Protection Unit (Jila Bal Sanrakshan Ikaai), is looking for Support Persons (Sahayak Vyakti) to assist child victims of sexual offences as required under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and POCSO Rules, 2020. This is a panel-based contractual appointment for a period of 3 years, and selected candidates will be empanelled to provide support services to children across the district.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

  • Graduation or Post-Graduation in Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Psychology, Social Work, Child Psychology, or a related field from a recognized university
  • Candidates must also be proficient in the local language

Work Experience

  • At least 2 years of work experience at the graduate level or above in areas related to child protection, social work, counselling, law, or psychology
  • Experience with DLSA/JHALSA/DCPU/CWC/JJB/POCSO Courts for at least 1 year is desirable

Other Requirements

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen
  • Must hold valid local residency proof as per the Administrative and Revenue Department notification dated 19.07.2019
  • No TV/DV (criminal background) — local police verification will be conducted for all empanelled candidates

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 35 years
  • Maximum Age: 60 years
  • Age will be calculated from the date of publication of the advertisement

Honorarium / Payment

  • This is a case-based contractual position, not a regular salaried post
  • Support Persons will receive an honorarium of at least Rs. 5,000 per case per installment, as allocated by the Bal Kalyan Samiti (Child Welfare Committee)
  • Payment is made as per the Women, Child Development & Social Security Department, Jharkhand notification No. 526/SP-POCSO/JSCPS/2023-24-525 dated 09.05.2025

Application Fee

  • Application Fee: Rs. 5,000 per case (refundable/adjustable — this amount is mentioned as the Shulk Prati Case in the notification for General/OBC candidates)

Selection Process

Selection is merit-based with no written exam. A Selection Committee will evaluate candidates based on:

  1. Educational Qualification (10 marks)
    • Graduate: 6 marks
    • Post-Graduate: 3 marks
    • Other qualifications: 1 mark
  2. Work Experience (10 marks)1 mark per year of relevant experience, up to a maximum of 10 marks
  3. Interview (Sakshatkar): 30 marks

Total: 50 marks. The Selection Committee will shortlist candidates and publish a merit list at the District Child Protection Unit, Jamtara office. The final panel will have 60% female and 40% male members. If enough female candidates are not available, male candidates may fill those spots.

Responsibilities

  • Assist child victims of sexual offences throughout the legal process as mandated under the POCSO Act, 2012
  • Keep the child informed about the progress of the case and provide emotional support during court proceedings
  • Work closely with DCPU, CWC, JJB, police, and judiciary to ensure child-friendly procedures are followed
  • Follow all directions and guidelines issued by the Department of Women, Child Development & Social Security, Jharkhand
  • Monitor and track each assigned case on the NCPCR POCSO Tracking Portal
  • Prepare reports on the status and needs of the child victim for the relevant authorities
  • Handle a maximum of 5 cases at a time, ensuring quality support to each child
  • Assist the child and family in accessing government welfare schemes, school admissions, and rehabilitation services

Graduation or Post-Graduation in Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Psychology, Social Work, Child Psychology, or related field

Preferred Qualification

Post-Graduation with DLSA/JHALSA/DCPU/CWC/JJB/POCSO court experience

Required Skills

Child protection knowledge, counselling skills, local language proficiency, familiarity with POCSO Act 2012 and JJ Act 2015

There is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection is purely merit-based with a total of 50 marks:

  • Work Experience: 10 marks — You get 1 mark for each year of relevant experience (maximum 10 marks)
  • Interview (Sakshatkar): 30 marks — The Selection Committee will call shortlisted candidates for an interview to assess your suitability, communication skills, and knowledge of child protection laws

Total: 50 marks. The final merit list will prioritize 60% female candidates and 40% male candidates. The empanelment is valid for 3 years.
