IUAC Scientist, Engineer & Library Recruitment 2026

Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi is hiring 8 posts on a direct recruitment basis: 5 Scientist-C, 2 Junior Engineer-C, and 1 Library Assistant-C. Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC) Recruitment 2026 - 8 Posts

Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), an autonomous centre of the University Grants Commission under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 06/2026 for 8 permanent posts. The posts are open to qualified Indian nationals and cover science, engineering, and library roles. Scientist-C candidates first join as Scientist Trainee on a stipend of Rs. 55,000 per month, and are absorbed into Level-10 after completing one year of training. All recruitment stages are held in New Delhi.

Vacancy Details

For Scientist-C, 2 vacancies are on an anticipated basis and 1 vacancy is on a lien basis. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease.

Who Can Apply?

Scientist-C (Level-10, Rs. 56,100/month):

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics with consistently good academic records (at least 60% from Class X onwards) from a recognised university or institute.
• Candidates completing their M.Sc. in 2025-26 can also apply, provided the final degree is available at the time of interview.
• Desirable: Good working knowledge of computer applications.

Junior Engineer-C (Level-6, Rs. 35,400/month):

• Qualification: Diploma in Electronics from a recognised university or institute with at least 60% marks from Class X onwards.
• Desirable: 3 years of experience in a relevant field with an R&D institution, and computer proficiency.

Library Assistant-C (Level-6, Rs. 35,400/month):

• Qualification: B.Lib. with B.Sc. and 4 years of experience in operating a computerised library.
• Desirable: Knowledge of computer applications.

Age Limit

• Scientist-C: up to 26 years
• Junior Engineer-C: up to 30 years
• Library Assistant-C: up to 34 years
• Age is counted as on the last date of application, 4 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years (against reserved posts only), PwBD get 10 years, and Ex-Servicemen get length of service plus 3 years. Central/State government and autonomous body employees with 3 years of regular service get up to 5 years relaxation.

Salary

• Scientist-C: Pay Level-10, Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month. During the one-year training period, you get a stipend of Rs. 55,000 per month.
• Junior Engineer-C and Library Assistant-C: Pay Level-6, Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month.
• All posts also carry DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC, and medical reimbursement as per IUAC rules.

Application Fee

• Scientist-C: Rs. 1,000 (General/OBC/EWS), Rs. 500 for SC/ST, PwBD and Women candidates.
• Junior Engineer-C and Library Assistant-C: Rs. 500 (General/OBC/EWS), Rs. 250 for SC/ST, PwBD and Women candidates.
• The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

Selection Process

Selection is based on the following stages:

1. Written Test: A written test is held for all posts. The syllabus is at par with the essential qualification for each post.
2. Interview: Scientist-C candidates face an interview after the written test.
3. Skill / Trade Test: Junior Engineer-C and Library Assistant-C candidates take a skill or trade test.
4. Document Verification
5. Medical Examination: Selected candidates undergo a medical fitness test before joining.

All recruitment stages are held in Delhi / New Delhi only. No TA/DA is paid for attending the written test.

• Keep proper records of experiments, equipment, and library materials.
• Prepare technical reports and follow institute safety guidelines.
