National Institute of Technology Nagaland (NIT Nagaland), an Institute of National Importance under the Government of India, is hiring a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for a contractual research assignment at Chumukedima, Dimapur. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial appointment: Your first contract runs for one year or until the project finishes, whichever comes earlier. The advertised project duration does not mean you receive a contract for that entire period at joining.
• Renewal: The institute may renew the appointment each year after reviewing your performance. Continued engagement depends on satisfactory work and the project remaining active, so renewal is conditional.
• Project horizon: The research project is planned for five years, with an earlier end if its work finishes sooner. This is the wider research timeline within which the individual fellowship operates.
• Doctoral registration: The notice says you may be permitted to register for a Ph.D. programme. Treat this as a possibility under the institute's process, rather than an automatic admission attached to the fellowship.
• Recruitment discretion: The Principal Investigator may fill the position, leave it unfilled, or cancel all or part of the advertisement without giving a reason. The notice makes the Principal Investigator's decision final.
• Travel costs: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the interview. You will need to arrange your journey and related expenses yourself if called.
