The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), a Central Armed Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has released a notification to fill 282 Group 'A' Medical Officer posts — Super Specialist Medical Officer, Specialist Medical Officer, and Medical Officer. Who Can Apply?
Each post corresponds to a specific rank in ITBP's officer cadre. The Medical Officer post carries the entry-level Group 'A' gazetted rank of Assistant Commandant, the Specialist Medical Officer post is equivalent to Deputy Commandant, and the Super Specialist Medical Officer post carries the senior rank of Second-in-Command.
Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant):
- You need an MBBS degree from a recognized university, with completed internship.
- You must hold a valid MCI/NMC/State Medical Council registration.
Specialist Medical Officer (Deputy Commandant):
- You need MBBS + a Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the relevant medical specialty.

Salary
- Selected candidates get pay in Level 10 to Level 12 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, depending on the post.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in these stages:

- Detailed Medical Examination (DME): You must be medically fit as per ITBP standards.

Responsibilities
- Provide medical care and treatment to ITBP personnel and their families at unit hospitals and dispensaries
- Conduct medical examinations and periodic health screenings for troops
- Handle medical emergencies and casualty management at high-altitude border posts
- Maintain patient health records and prepare medical reports for the unit
- Supervise paramedical staff and manage day-to-day hospital/dispensary operations
- Advise unit commanders on health, hygiene, and sanitation standards
- Participate in medical camps, disaster relief, and evacuation operations as required
- Ensure adequate stock of medicines and medical equipment at the assigned location
