ISRO ISTRAC Multi-Post Recruitment 2026

ISRO's ISTRAC is hiring for 26 posts across Technician-B, Draughtsman-B, Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant and Cook-A roles. ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) Recruitment 2026 - 26 Posts

ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), a key unit of the Department of Space, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. ISTRAC:02:2026 to fill 26 vacancies across ten post codes. ISTRAC is the ground segment backbone that tracks ISRO's satellites and launch vehicles from stations at Bengaluru, Lucknow, Sriharikota and other centres. These posts are permanent (described as temporary but likely to continue) and are open to Indian nationals only. Freshers with the right trade certificate, diploma or degree can apply for most posts.

Vacancy Breakdown

Several posts are reserved for OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwBD candidates. For Technician-B (Electronics Mechanic), 5 posts are at ISTRAC and 3 at the Master Control Facility (MCF), Hassan. Draughtsman-B (Civil) is a PwBD-OH backlog vacancy.

Who Can Apply?

Technician-B (Level 3 - Rs. 21,700/month)

• Electronics Mechanic: 10th pass (SSLC/SSC/Matriculation) plus ITI/NTC/NAC in Electronics Mechanic, Technician Power Electronic Systems, Mechanic Consumer Electronic Appliances or Mechanic Industrial Electronics trade from NCVT.
• Carpenter: 10th pass plus ITI/NTC/NAC in Carpenter trade from NCVT.

Draughtsman-B (Level 3 - Rs. 21,700/month)

• Civil or Mechanical: 10th pass plus ITI/NTC/NAC in Draughtsman (Civil or Mechanical) trade from NCVT.

Technical Assistant (Level 7 - Rs. 44,900/month)

• Electronics or Mechanical: First Class Diploma in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering from a recognised State Board. Candidates who did the diploma through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible for Technical Assistant.

Scientific Assistant (Level 7 - Rs. 44,900/month)

• Computer Science: First Class B.Sc with Computer Science as the main subject from a recognised University.
• Mathematics: First Class B.Sc with Mathematics as the main subject from a recognised University.

Library Assistant-A (Level 7 - Rs. 44,900/month)

• First Class Graduate plus a First Class Master's degree in Library Science / Library & Information Science or equivalent from a recognised University.

Cook-A (Level 2 - Rs. 19,900/month)

• 10th pass (SSLC/SSC) plus 5 years experience as a cook in a well-established hotel or canteen. Experience certificates issued by individuals will not be accepted.

Only Indian nationals can apply.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 35 years old as on 20 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates, only where the post is reserved for that category.
• Other categories: PwBD, Ex-servicemen, meritorious sports persons, widows and women judicially separated from their husbands get relaxation as per Government of India rules.
• EWS candidates do not get any age relaxation.

Salary

• Cook-A: Rs. 19,900 per month (Level 2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix).
• Technician-B and Draughtsman-B: Rs. 21,700 per month (Level 3).
• Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant and Library Assistant-A: Rs. 44,900 per month (Level 7).
• You will also get DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other admissible allowances. ISRO provides free transport, limited housing, advances for computer or house purchase, LTC, Group Insurance and subsidized canteen facilities.

Application Fee

• Technical Assistant / Scientific Assistant / Library Assistant-A: Rs. 250 (non-refundable). All candidates first pay Rs. 750, and Rs. 500 is refunded to those who appear in the Written Test/CBT.
• Technician-B / Draughtsman-B / Cook-A: Rs. 100 (non-refundable). All candidates first pay Rs. 500, and Rs. 400 is refunded to those who appear in the Written Test/CBT.
• Women, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen: Full refund of the processing fee.
• Payment mode: Online only through the Bharatkosh e-payment gateway (Internet Banking, UPI or Debit Card).

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Initial Screening: Based on your academic marks and other parameters. Only screened-in candidates are called for the Written Test/CBT.
2. Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT): A curriculum-based objective exam. Candidates are shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates).
3. Skill Test: Purely qualifying (go/no-go). Final merit is based on your Written Test/CBT marks among those who clear the Skill Test.

The Written Test/CBT is held in Bengaluru or other cities across India in Hindi or English. The Skill Test is conducted only in Bengaluru.

How to Apply

1. Go to the ISRO/ISTRAC portal at isro.gov.in or istrac.gov.in.
2. Register online (you will get a registration number, so save it).
3. Fill in the online application form with a correct email and mobile number.
4. Upload a recent passport-size photo and signature (jpg/jpeg, 50-100 KB each) along with your certificates.
5. Pay the fee online through Bharatkosh.
6. Submit the form and take a printout. The form cannot be edited after final submission.

• Follow safety rules and work in round-the-clock shifts when required.
