Selection Process

Selection has three phases. Phase I is an online Computer Based Test (CBT) with negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer. If you clear the CBT, you move to Phase II at an Airmen Selection Centre where you go through document verification, a 1.6 km run, push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and two adaptability tests. Phase III is a detailed medical examination by the Air Force Medical Team.

Preparation Tips for IAF Agniveervayu Exam

  • Science stream candidates get 60 minutes for 70 questions -- that is about 51 seconds per question, so practice speed
  • Focus on Physics and Mathematics if applying for Science subjects -- they carry 50 out of 70 marks
  • English is common across both streams (20 questions) -- practice grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary
  • RAGA (Reasoning and General Awareness) carries 30 questions for Other Than Science stream -- cover current affairs from the last 6 months
