ILBS Project Assistant Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi is hiring a Project Assistant for the Hospital Based Cancer Registries in India (HBCRI) project run in its Department of Oncology. The project is funded by the ICMR-National Institute of NCD Epidemiology (NINE), which was earlier called ICMR-NCDIR. This is a project contract job, not a permanent institute post — you will keep the registry records of every cancer patient registered at ILBS up to date, from diagnosis and treatment to follow-up. Graduates from science, life sciences, nursing, public health, social work or hospital management can apply, and people who have already worked in a hospital get preference.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: You join on a contract basis for one year at first. The contract can be extended up to 2 years, depending on your performance and whether project funds are available.
• Cut-off date: Your qualification, experience and upper age are all checked as on the last date for applying, so you must meet them by that day.
• Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates are called to the institute for the written test, interview or skill test.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid, so you travel to ILBS at your own cost.
• Category proof: The application form asks for your category (UR, SC, ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen or PwD with 40% or more disability) and your citizenship, and you must attach proof for each.
