IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Project Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad (IIT ISM Dhanbad) has released a notification for 1 Project Assistant position under a sponsored ANRF ARG research project titled "Prediction of Relapse Time and Recovery Rate of Substance Use Disorder Based on Longitudinal Survey Study Applying Statistical and Machine Learning Tools." The work location is at the Institute of Psychiatry-COE in Kolkata, not at IIT Dhanbad campus. Psychology graduates with an interest in clinical research and mental health should apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: You need a BSc in Psychology from a recognised university.
• Preferred Experience: Candidates who have worked with Substance Use Disorder populations, in hospital/clinical/de-addiction settings, or in longitudinal data collection will be given preference.
• Research Knowledge: Basic knowledge of research methodology and statistics is preferred.

Desirable Skills

• Ability to administer psychological tools and structured interviews
• Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and Bengali
• Experience in field data collection and patient follow-up
• Competence in maintaining research records and data confidentiality
• Willingness to travel to de-addiction centres and field sites within Kolkata

Age Limit

• Age limit is as per the norms of the ANRF Project Assistant recruitment.
• Category-wise relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules.

Salary / Fellowship

• You will get a fellowship of Rs. 27,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd year.
• HRA will be provided if hostel accommodation is not available.
• The project tenure is 2 years.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their academic merit and project requirements. Having minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the date and time of interview via email. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

The selected candidate must join duty immediately after receiving the offer.
