University of Kashmir (KU), a NAAC A++ accredited institution located at Hazratbal, Srinagar, has released Advertisement Notice No. 08 of 2026 for 12 Junior Accounts Assistant posts. These are non-teaching positions in Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500-81,100). J&K domicile is mandatory for all applicants. Reservation follows S.O 305 dated 21.05.2024 issued by the UT Government of Jammu & Kashmir. Graduates from any stream can apply for this opportunity.

Category-wise distribution of 12 posts:

• Open Merit (OM): 05 posts
• Scheduled Caste (SC): 01 post
• Scheduled Tribe - 1 (ST-1): 01 post
• Scheduled Tribe - 2 (ST-2): 01 post
• Backward Area (BA): 01 post
• Other Backward Class (OBC): 01 post
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 01 post
• Ladakh/IB (LAC/IB): 01 post

Note: EWS vacancies will not be carried forward as backlog. If no suitable EWS candidate is found, the post will be filled under UR category.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized University.
• Minimum Marks: 50% marks for Open Merit candidates and 45% marks for Reserved Category candidates.
• Domicile: You must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. A valid Domicile Certificate in the prescribed format must be produced at the time of document verification.
• Foreign Degree: Candidates with degrees from a foreign university must submit an "Equivalence Certificate" from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.

Age Limit

Your age as on 01 January 2026 should be:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age (Open Merit): 40 years
• Maximum Age (Physically Challenged): 42 years
• Maximum Age (SC/ST-1/ST-2/BA/OBC/EWS/LAC/IB): 43 years
• Maximum Age (In-service employees of State Universities of J&K): 50 years

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month under Pay Level 4 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per UT Government of J&K rules.
• Your services may be transferable between the different Satellite Campuses of the University of Kashmir.

• The fee once paid will not be refunded or re-adjusted under any circumstances.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through the following stages (as applicable):

1. Screening Test / OMR-Based Written Test: The University will conduct a written exam. The syllabus will be notified separately on the official website. Note: The University will not scrutinize applications for eligibility at the written test stage. Your candidature is accepted provisionally.
2. Skill Test: If applicable, a skill test may be conducted after the written exam.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must submit the printout of their online application along with all original and self-attested supporting documents.

Mere fulfilment of qualifications and experience does not automatically entitle you to be called for the screening/written test. The University reserves the right to determine the process.

3. Click on Non-Teaching Jobs and Register using a valid Email ID and mobile number. Remember your Username and Password.
4. After registration, Login using your credentials.
5. Fill in your personal details, educational qualifications and other required information.
6. Preview the form carefully. If details are correct, click Submit. Remember: no editing or updating is allowed after the form is submitted.
7. Pay the application fee of Rs. 750 through online mode.
8. Take a printout of the submitted application form and note the Form No. for future reference.

For in-service candidates: You must apply through proper channel and send the hard copy (advance copy) to reach the University before 30 April 2026.
