Its Research and Development Section has released a notification for 1 Junior Research Fellow post under the sponsored project "Light-Mediated RAFT Polymerization Enables the Design of Mucin-Inspired High-Molecular-Weight Biomaterials", based at the Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology. Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: You need a Post Graduate Degree in a Basic Science, or a Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in a Professional Course.
• Qualifying Route 1: You must be a scholar selected through the CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), and GATE.
• Qualifying Route 2: You can also qualify if selected through National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, and IISc.
• Desirable Qualification: An M.Sc. in any branch of Chemistry, or an M.Tech in Biotechnology, Biomedical Science and Engineering is preferred.
• Candidates with research experience in polymer synthesis and hydrogel-related research are highly desirable for this position.

Salary

• You will receive a monthly package of Rs. 44,400, made up of Rs. 37,000 basic pay and Rs. 7,400 House Rent Allowance (HRA). No medical allowance is provided for this post.
• The appointment runs for 8 months, and your basic pay may be revised by the competent authority based on your interview performance and relevant experience.
• This is a consolidated monthly package — no allowances beyond HRA are mentioned in the notification.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Interview: You need to appear for the offline interview on 19 August 2026 (Wednesday) at 10:00 AM, at Office Room 207, School of Energy Science and Engineering building, IIT Guwahati.

3. Final Selection: Your final selection depends entirely on how you perform in the interview.

Note: You will not get TA/DA for attending the interview, and no campus accommodation will be provided even if you are selected.
