The International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), a Deemed University functioning as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has invited applications for 3 temporary project positions in the ongoing NFHS-6 project. IIPS is the nodal agency responsible for conducting India's flagship National Family Health Survey, which provides critical data on population, health, and nutrition indicators across all states and union territories. These are contractual positions with competitive remuneration, and they offer an excellent opportunity to work on one of India's most important national surveys.

Who Can Apply?

Chief Research Officer (Data Processing & Tabulation)

• Qualification: PhD in Demography, Mathematics, Statistics, or Bio-Statistics with 10 years of experience in large-scale national surveys
• Alternative: M.Tech or Master's in Computer Applications with 10 years of experience in large-scale survey data processing
• Required: Good working knowledge of data processing applications such as CsPro
• Desirable: Knowledge of statistical software like STATA, SPSS, SAS, and Python

Senior Project Officer (Establishment & Procurement)

• Qualification: Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in any discipline
• Condition: Must be retired from Central Government from Level 12 and above
• Experience: At least 10 years working experience in a senior management position
• Age Limit: Not more than 65 years
• Desirable: Knowledge of Government of India Rules, and proficiency in written and oral communication

Junior Research Officer (Report Writing)

• Qualification: M.Phil or Master's degree in Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences, Public Health, or related fields
• Desirable: Experience in report writing and data analysis for national health surveys

Age Limit

• Senior Project Officer: Maximum 65 years (must be a retired Central Government employee)
• Chief Research Officer and Junior Research Officer: No specific age limit mentioned in the notification. However, candidates must meet the experience requirements

Salary

• Chief Research Officer: Maximum Rs. 1,26,000 per month (remuneration will be fixed based on qualification and experience)
• Senior Project Officer: Maximum Rs. 76,000 per month (remuneration will be fixed as per GoI norms for retired government servants)
• Junior Research Officer: Maximum Rs. 47,000 per month (remuneration will be fixed based on experience)

Important Notes

• All positions are purely temporary and on a contractual basis under the NFHS-6 project
• The initial appointment will be for a maximum period of one year, which may be extended based on performance
• IIPS reserves the right to relax qualification and experience requirements in deserving cases

• Chief Research Officer: Lead the development of data validation, tabulation, and analysis applications using statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, SAS, and CsPro for the NFHS-6 project
• Senior Project Officer: Manage all administrative matters related to the NFHS-6 project, including establishment, procurement, contracts, and compliance with Government of India rules
• Junior Research Officer: Assist Principal Investigators and Senior Research Officers in report writing, preparing factsheets at district, state, and national levels, and dissemination of survey findings
• Coordinate with field agencies and partner organizations for smooth implementation of survey activities
• Prepare periodic progress reports and present findings to the technical advisory committee
• Handle correspondence, documentation, and record-keeping related to the assigned unit's activities
• Assist in organizing training workshops, seminars, and dissemination events related to NFHS-6
