IIM Visakhapatnam Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) has released notification (Advt. No. IIMV/HR/PA/PP-APMSMEDC/2026/01) for the engagement of one Project Associate on a purely temporary and contractual basis. The post is for the sponsored consultancy project titled "Development of Product Perfection Framework for MSMEs in Andhra Pradesh", undertaken for the AP MSME Development Corporation (APMSMEDC), Government of Andhra Pradesh, under the RAMP programme. The engagement is for 3 months initially, extendable based on performance and co-terminus with the project (12 weeks tentative).

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualifications (Any One)

• Master's degree from a recognised University / Institute in Management, Economics, Public Policy, Development Studies, Industrial / Production Engineering, Commerce, or a cognate discipline, with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA)
• OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech.) in Industrial, Production, Mechanical or allied branches with a minimum of 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA)
• OR Bachelor's degree in any other allied areas

Preferred Experience

• Up to 1 year of relevant work or research experience in MSME / industrial cluster development, policy research or consulting, quality and standards certification (BIS, ISO, FSSAI), product life-cycle or value-chain analysis, or field-based data collection
• Prior association with Government-sponsored research or consultancy projects at IITs, IIMs, NITs or equivalent institutions will be preferred

Essential Skills

• Working knowledge of MS Excel (including pivot tables and basic data analysis), MS Word and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with statistical software (SPSS, R, or Stata) will be an added advantage
• Proficiency in report writing in English
• Working knowledge of Telugu will be preferred for field work across Andhra Pradesh
• Willingness to undertake frequent field travel within Andhra Pradesh

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications (18 May 2026)
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India norms for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy layer) / PwD / Women candidates

Salary

• Consolidated emoluments: Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 per month (based on your qualifications and experience)
• The salary is inclusive of all allowances
• No HRA, TA or other perquisites will be paid

Selection Process

Selection is through shortlisting and interview:

1. Shortlisting based on application, qualifications and experience (tentative date: 25 May 2026)
2. Interview in person or online at IIMV's discretion (tentative date: 01 June 2026)

• Support desk research and review of Product Perfection framework literature and national / international quality standards (BIS, ISO, FSSAI)
• Assist in developing the Product Perfection Metric (PPM) — indicator identification, weighting, scoring methodology and normalization framework
• Collect, compile and analyse secondary data on production, exports, certifications and cluster-level performance
• Coordinate stakeholder consultations, key informant interviews and field visits to pilot MSME clusters in Andhra Pradesh
• Prepare value-chain maps, cluster-level scorecards and gap-assessment notes
• Draft sections of the Inception Note, Draft Final Report and Final Report under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
• Provide administrative and logistical support for project coordination with APMSMEDC, RTIH, district authorities and industry associations
• Travel to industrial clusters, district headquarters and the State capital as required for field work
