Anna University Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) has released Advertisement No. 8502/2024/CES/KODUNGAIYUR/Temporary Staff/2025 dated 11 May 2026. The recruitment is for temporary project staff on a consolidated salary for the consultancy project on reclamation of the Kodungaiyur dumping ground through biomining. Engineering, environmental science, safety, MIS and office-support candidates can apply if they match the qualification given for each post.

Project Work and Location

The work location is Anna University, Chennai, mainly through the Centre for Environmental Studies at College of Engineering Guindy. The selected staff will support a consultancy project connected with solid waste management and biomining. This means the roles are not routine office vacancies only; technical posts may need project coordination, data handling, site-related support and environmental documentation.

The engagement is temporary for an initial period of 6 months. The notice says it may be extended based on performance up to the project period, so you should treat this as a project-based opportunity and not a permanent university post.

Who Can Apply?

Engineering and Environmental Roles

• Team Leader - Environmental Expert: You need B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Energy and Environment or related engineering, plus M.E./M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Environmental Science and Technology.
• Project Associate II: You need Ph.D in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Environmental Biotechnology, or M.E./M.Tech in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering and Management, Structural Engineering, Remote Sensing or Geomatics.
• Surveyor: You need B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Geo Informatics.

Safety, MIS and Support Roles

• Environmental and Safety Officer: You need a safety-related diploma or qualification in Industrial Safety, HSE, Fire Safety, Disaster Management, Industrial Safety and Hazardous Management or an allied area.
• MIS Manager: You need a graduate degree in any engineering discipline. Knowledge of PLA-based software, finance basics and advanced MS Excel is desirable.
• ESHS Manager: You need a postgraduate degree in environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental science, social work, sociology or an allied field.
• Project Assistant: You need B.A. English, B.Sc., BBA, B.Com or BCA, with computer operation, document preparation and typewriting knowledge preferred.

Experience Preference

• Team Leader: Preference is given for 10 years of SWM or biomining project experience.
• Environmental and Safety Officer: Preference is given for 2 years of experience and safety certification from a reputed safety organisation.
• MIS Manager, ESHS Manager, Project Associate II and Surveyor: Preference is given for 1 year of relevant experience where mentioned in the notice.
• Final year PG students can apply for the Environmental and Safety Officer, Project Associate II and Surveyor posts where the notice allows it.

Salary

• Team Leader - Environmental Expert: Rs. 85,000 per month
• MIS Manager and ESHS Manager: Rs. 45,000 per month
• Project Associate II: Rs. 42,000 per month
• Environmental and Safety Officer: Rs. 41,000 per month
• Surveyor: Rs. 30,000 per month
• Project Assistant: Rs. 24,000 per month
• The salary is a fixed consolidated monthly amount for the temporary project engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Anna University will shortlist applications and call shortlisted candidates for an interview.

2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. Selection is based on the interview.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
