IIM Calcutta has released notification for 1 Deputy General Manager (IT) post on contract for the Computer Centre at its Joka campus in Kolkata. Candidates who have B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT/ECE or MCA/M.Sc (CS/IT) with minimum 12 years of IT experience can apply offline. IIM Calcutta Deputy General Manager (IT) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), established in 1961 as India's first IIM and the country's only triple-accredited business school (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), is looking for a seasoned IT professional to lead its digital transformation initiatives at the Computer Centre. This is a contractual position for 3 years with an attractive monthly package of Rs. 1.50 lakh. Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification:

• Option 1: B.E. / B.Tech in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.
• Option 2: M.C.A. or M.Sc. (Computer Science / Information Technology) with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized University/Institute.

Experience Required:

• You need a minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience in reputed organizations in the field of IT.
• Your experience should cover visioning, designing, architecting, implementing, and servicing information systems and IT platforms for organizational strategy and execution excellence.
• Proven experience in digital transformation — from strategy and roadmap creation to full lifecycle execution — is essential.

Age Limit

• Preferred age: Up to 50 years as on the last date of receiving applications.
• Note: Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates will be as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Consolidated emolument of Rs. 1,50,000 per month (negotiable based on the candidate's experience and job profile).
• If you choose to stay in Institute accommodation, a 15% deduction will apply to the monthly emolument.
• Additional benefits include medical reimbursement and mediclaim insurance.

Selection Process

1. Screening of Applications: Your application will be screened based on eligibility criteria and relevant experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview, which may include a practical test or presentation depending on the assessment needs.

Out-stationed candidates shortlisted for personal interview will be reimbursed to-and-fro travel fares as Travelling Allowance on submission of bills.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay updated on technology trends in the educational institute space and evaluate how they can be applied at IIM Calcutta.
• Engage with all stakeholders across the Institute to identify IT needs, problems, and requirements for designing and executing the digital transformation program.
• Streamline, standardize, and automate processes across the Institute to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and develop insights.
• Identify opportunities, risks, and interdependencies across Institute-wide IT initiatives and conduct periodic reviews.
• Manage the complete application and technology landscape — from preparing software requirement specifications and RFPs to ensuring smooth running of all current academic and administrative software.
• Oversee network and hardware infrastructure including campus-wide connectivity, Internet access, and regular IT audits.
• Select and manage IT vendors in compliance with institutional policies and handle the complete procurement lifecycle.
• Secure Institute data from internal and external threats, and assess alternative software environments.
