The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering and Nutrition, Ahmedabad (IHM Ahmedabad) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. It has released a notification for 2 Teaching Associate (Contractual) posts at its Gandhinagar campus. There is no written exam — you will be selected through a Teaching Ability test and a Subject Skill test. If you want to start a teaching career in hotel management, this is a good chance for you.

Who Can Apply?

You must have cleared the NHTET (National Hospitality Teaching Eligibility Test) conducted by NCHMCT with the prescribed percentage. Along with that, you need to meet one of these qualification options:

Option 1 — Bachelor's + Master's Degree

• A full-time Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration / Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognised university, AND
• A full-time Master's degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration / Hotel Management
• You need at least 60% marks in either the Bachelor's or the Master's degree

Option 2 — Bachelor's Degree + Experience

• A full-time Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Hotel Administration / Hotel Management after 10+2 from a recognised university with at least 60% marks, AND
• At least 2 years of industry experience

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India rules from time to time.

Application Fee

• You must send a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 200 drawn in favour of the Principal, IHM Ahmedabad along with your application.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on the following tests:

1. Teaching Ability Test: Your ability to teach and explain hotel management topics will be checked.
2. Subject Skill Test: Your practical and subject knowledge will be tested.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the Teaching Ability test and Subject Skill test.
