ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR-CRRI), Cuttack has released Advertisement No. 10/SRF/2026-27 for 2 Senior Research Fellow posts under project code EAP-245. The selected fellows will work on climate-resilient agriculture activities connected with farmer fields, data collection, laboratory support, analysis, presentation, documentation, and official project work.

This is a purely temporary project post and the appointment is linked to the project. The project duration is up to 30 September 2026 or project completion, whichever happens earlier. No separate online application is required; you have to attend the walk-in interview at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack with the required documents.

The work is a mix of farmer-field activity, laboratory analysis, data handling, and report preparation. Because the project focuses on climate-resilient agriculture, candidates with hands-on exposure to soil, plant, water, GIS, remote sensing, or field experimentation should highlight that experience clearly in the biodata form.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification Route 1

• M.Sc Agriculture route: You can apply if you have M.Sc (Ag.) with specialization in Soil Science, Agronomy, Agricultural Microbiology, Agricultural Physics, Environmental Science, or Physiology.
• Bachelor degree condition: This route needs a 4 to 5 year Bachelor's degree as mentioned in the notification.

Essential Qualification Route 2

• Postgraduate science route: You can apply with PG degree in Botany, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Geography, GIS and Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, or Chemistry.
• Degree pattern: This route needs a 3 year Bachelor's degree and 2 year Master's degree.
• NET and experience: You need NET qualification and 2 years of research experience for this route.

Desirable Experience

• Lab and field work: Two years of experience in soil, plant, and water analysis work in laboratory and field experiments is desirable.
• Report work: Experience in scientific or technical reports, papers, GIS mapping, or remote sensing work can support your application.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for men: 35 years as on the interview date.
• Maximum age for women: 40 years as on the interview date.
• Age relaxation: SC, ST, and OBC candidates get relaxation as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Monthly pay: Rs. 37,000 per month.
• HRA: HRA is payable as per rules.
• The post is temporary and project-linked up to 30 September 2026 or till completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Selection will happen through a written-cum-personal interview at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack. If many candidates report for the walk-in, ICAR-CRRI may hold a screening test to shortlist candidates before the interview.

Important Conditions

• Temporary post: The SRF engagement is project-linked and does not give any right to permanent absorption in ICAR-CRRI or ICAR.
