Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) Specialist Officers Recruitment 2026 - 745 Posts

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the detailed notification for CRP SPL-XVI to fill 745 Specialist Officer vacancies (for the year 2027-28) in 11 participating public sector banks. The exam is held in three stages — Preliminary, Main and Interview, followed by provisional allotment to one of the banks. Graduates and post-graduates from the relevant fields can apply online for a single post of their choice.

Who Can Apply?

IT Officer (Scale-I)

• 4-year Engineering/Technology degree in Computer Science / Computer Applications / IT / Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication / Electronics & Instrumentation, OR
• Post Graduate degree in Electronics / Computer Science / IT / Computer Applications (and related), OR a graduate with DOEACC 'B' level.

Agricultural Field Officer (Scale-I)

• 4-year degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Animal Husbandry / Veterinary Science / Dairy Science / Fishery Science / Agri. Marketing or allied fields.

Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale-I)

• Post Graduate degree in Hindi with English as a subject at graduation, OR PG in Sanskrit with English and Hindi at graduation.

Law Officer (Scale-I)

• Bachelor Degree in Law (LL.B) and enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council.

HR/Personnel Officer (Scale-I)

• Graduate + 2-year full-time PG degree or diploma in Personnel Management / Industrial Relations / HR / HRD / Social Work / Labour Law.

Marketing Officer (Scale-I)

• Graduate + 2-year full-time MMS / MBA / PGDBA / PGDBM / PGPM / PGDM with specialisation in Marketing.

For all posts other than IT Officer, you should also have studied Computer / IT as a subject or hold a certificate/diploma in computer operations. The final result must be declared on or before 21 July 2026.

Age Limit

• You should be between 20 and 30 years as on 01 July 2026 (born between 02.07.1996 and 01.07.2006, both dates inclusive).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) — 3 years, Persons with Benchmark Disability — 10 years, Ex-Servicemen — 5 years.

Salary

• Specialist Officers (Scale-I) get a basic pay starting at Rs. 48,480 per month (scale: Rs. 48,480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920).
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances & perquisites as per the rules of the participating bank.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / PwBD: Rs. 175 (inclusive of GST)
• All other candidates: Rs. 850 (inclusive of GST)
• Payment mode: Online only. Bank transaction charges are borne by you.

Selection Process

Selection is done in three stages plus provisional allotment:

1. Online Preliminary Exam: 100 questions for 125 marks in 80 minutes. You must clear the cut-off in each test.
2. Online Main Exam: 150 questions for 200 marks in 125 minutes (for IT Officer, AFO, HR and Marketing posts).
3. Common Interview: Conducted by the participating banks and coordinated by the nodal bank.
4. Provisional Allotment: Shortlisted candidates are allotted to one of the participating banks.

There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the online exams.

3. Upload your photograph, signature and required documents.
4. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 850 general / Rs. 175 SC/ST/PwBD).
5. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
