Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the notification for CRP PO/MT-XVI to fill 6715 Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts across 11 participating public sector banks including Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank of India and others. These are permanent officer-level bank jobs filled through a single common exam. Any graduate can apply — freshers are welcome.

Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification. You must hold a valid mark sheet / degree certificate on the day you register (result declared on or before 21 July 2026).
- Nationality: You must be a citizen of India (or fall under the other eligible categories mentioned in the notification with a certificate of eligibility).
- Computer knowledge: Working knowledge of computer systems is required.
Age Limit
- You should be between 20 and 30 years old as on 1 July 2026 (born between 2 July 1996 and 1 July 2006, both dates inclusive).
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) get 3 years, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get 10 years, and Ex-Servicemen get 5 years.
Salary
- Basic pay scale: Rs. 48,480 - 85,920 (Rs. 48,480-2000/7-62480-2340/2-67160-2680/7-85920).
- You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances and perquisites as per the rules of the participating bank.

- SC / ST / PwBD: Rs. 175 (inclusive of GST)
- All other candidates: Rs. 850 (inclusive of GST)
- Payment mode: Online only. Bank transaction charges are borne by the candidate.
Selection Process
The selection is done in three stages:
- Preliminary Exam (Online, Objective): 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes (English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability). You must clear each section's cut-off.
- Main Exam (Online, Objective + Descriptive): 170 questions for 200 marks in 160 minutes (Reasoning, General/Economy/Banking/Digital Awareness, English, Data Analysis & Interpretation), plus an English Language descriptive test.
- Personality Test / Common Interview: Candidates shortlisted from the Main Exam are called for a Common Interview conducted by the participating banks.
Provisional allotment to one of the participating banks is done based on your final merit and the actual vacancies reported by the banks.
Pre-Examination Training (PET): IBPS conducts free pre-examination training for eligible SC/ST/Minority community and other candidates before the Preliminary Exam in August 2026. If you belong to these categories, you can opt for it while filling the application form.

Exam Pattern
The selection has two online exams (Preliminary and Main) followed by an interview.
Preliminary Exam
An objective test of 100 questions for 100 marks in 60 minutes. Each test is separately timed.
- English Language: 30 questions (30 marks) — 20 minutes
- Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions (30 marks) — 20 minutes
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (40 marks) — 20 minutes
You must qualify each test by securing the minimum cut-off set by IBPS.
Main Exam
An objective plus descriptive test of 170 questions for 200 marks in 160 minutes.
- Reasoning: 40 questions (60 marks) — 45 minutes
- General / Economy / Banking / Digital & Financial Awareness: 50 questions (60 marks) — 35 minutes
- English Language: 40 questions (20 marks) — 35 minutes
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: 40 questions (60 marks) — 45 minutes
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer in the objective tests. Exam Language: English and Hindi (English Language test in English only).
