Indian Air Force (IAF) has issued Advertisement No. 01/2026 for direct recruitment of Group C civilian posts. Who Can Apply?

Lower Division Clerk and Hindi Typist

• Qualification: You must have passed 12th Class from a recognised board.
• Typing Skill: You need 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi on computer. The typing test time is 10 minutes.

Civilian Mechanical Transport Driver

• Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation / 10th or equivalent.
• Driving Licence: You must hold a valid civil driving licence for light and heavy vehicles.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of driving motor vehicles.
• Skill: You need professional driving skill and knowledge of motor mechanism.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 25 years as on the last date for receipt of application.
• OBC: 3 years relaxation.
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation.
• PwBD: 10 years relaxation, with additional relaxation for SC/ST/OBC PwBD candidates as per rules.
• Ex-servicemen: Service period relaxation as per Government rules.
• Departmental employees: Up to 40 years for UR and 45 years for SC/ST.

Salary

• All three posts carry Pay Level 2 as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Monthly pay range: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200.
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules.

Selection Process

The selection process has written test weightage first, followed by qualifying skill or practical tests.

1. Application Scrutiny: Units will check age, qualification, documents, and certificates before calling candidates.
2. Written Test: Written test carries 100% weightage and is based on minimum educational qualification.
3. Skill / Practical / Physical Test: Typing test for LDC and Hindi Typist. Driving test for CMTD. These tests are qualifying only.
4. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must bring original certificates and copies.
